Reading the very interesting thread on Descriptions made me wonder something. I'm not really up on what all of the jargon gay men use means. F'rinstance:

 

If an escort(or a guy in general) labels himself a top, does that mean only the obvious(that he won't be on the receiving end when participating in anal sex), or does it imply more? Does it mean he won't suck but only be sucked,etc.? Also, where does rimming fit in? Will most tops rim another guy and will they allow another guy to rim them? Thanks for any,er, input.;-)

I'm a devoted bottom, and I think I always will be. So much so, that I really can't understand what tops really get out of the experience - but god love 'em for it!

 

I have done the topping role before, but as Franco described above, it was more to get laid (and in hopes that the tables would turn at some point while the bed rodeo was in play) than because I really wanted to. We eventually swapped off (I pretended I just LOVED to pound his ass), and I was oh so relieved that someone else was finally doing the driving.

This is funny. Because I can't understand what bottoms get out of it, and it just amazes me how they get so into it. And for me, it's God Love 'Em (the bottoms).

 

I have bottomed a total of three times when I was 19 and 20 years old -- mainly because I was very naive and easily coaxed back then. I DID NOT LIKE IT ONE BIT! MATTER OF FACT, IT HURT LIKE HELL!! My first time I thought it was painful and didn't enjoy it at all either. But that has more to do with how well the top knows how to please a bottom than someone's particular aperture. I like tops who like being tops - but I think it helps if they know how the bottom feels also. Makes them a little more sensitive to the experience.

Gee wiz, where's this coming from? A little sensitive, are we? I've NEVER, EVER stated or implied that being a bottom is a feminine trait and/or that being a top is a masculine trait (I don't even recall reading a post where someone else has implied this). I'm not really attracted to feminine guys regardless of whether they bottom or not. But I have fucked VERY masculine and muscled men, men who were a lot bigger than I. I was just thankful that they preferred being bottom!

 

Being a top or bottom, in my view, is simply a "sexual preference." Has nothing to do with femininity or masculinity.

This is another stereotype with no basis in reality. It is very much a preference, but unlike the belief of sexual orientation, it is more a choice than an inherent biological behavior.

 

I think it has a great deal to do with the fact that learning to be a good top is similiar to learning to be a good bottom. It requires patience, care, undersanding and an awareness of your partner.

 

If the guy has done his homework, the experience for anyone should be a very positive one....
