I am aware of the posts/threads about Kristian in Houston and his troubles with the law. I will be going to Houston soon and have been in contact with a couple of escorts to set up a meeting. One of the escorts mentioned problems with law enforcement targeting escorts. I am not sure if he is just referring to Kristian or if there are others that have had problems as well (I'm trying to clarify this with him). Anyway, two questions:

1. Is anyone aware of any other escorts that have had run ins with the law recently?

2. At the risk of sounding self centered or paranoid, is there any indication that they are or will target clients? I typically rely on escorts reviewed in this site but am considering hiring someone who has not and I am a bit concerned (he is listed on another site that lists independent escorts but that does not necessarily guarantee he is not law enforcement working on entrapment).

Thanks in advance for any insights anyone might have....Wayno :9

I saw a cop show that said if you ask these questions the cop has to answer or it's considered entrapement:

1. Are you a cop?

2. Are you a detective?

3. Are you a undercover detective?

4. Are you setting me up?

And don't touch him first !!!

Has anyone else seen this and think it's true?

heard that in college when smoking pot.

no, it's not true as far as the law goes. department guidelines for a particular police may require someone to answer truthfully, but i have never heard or seen anything like that.

a primary role of police investigators is lying in order to gain info, or trust, to in turn gain such info. their view is that they're the good guys, and investigations require such subterfuge in order to bring people to justice. others here on the boards are more informed about justice that I.

None of the above is true :( . I am 100% on this one. The whole objecto f an undercover operation is just that, undercover. No one has to acknowledge they are an officer till the cuffs come out.

Why don't we ask Rush to chime in on this one?

As others have said, it is not true. Undercover cops have got to lie in order to protect their cover--perfectly legal.

Entrapment, however, is when a police officer basically talks you into doing something you would not ordinarily do and would not have done but for his coaxing.

Like selling drugs--if you are not a seller, but an undercover cop keeps asking and pushes you into selling a little of your stuff even though you don't want to, but do it just to get him off your back--that's one example of entrapment.

Similarly in escorting, it would have to be something you would not ordinarily be doing, but the under cover cop keeps prodding and talks you into having sex for money--that would be entrapment.
