hey there,

I feel like a virgin (again), but I've never been to California and I'm doing a three week road trip so I need suggestions for hotels in LA and San Diego. Something kewl preferably, but also not terribly expensive. Chains are fine, but if there are better options I'd appreciate hearing them.

Any sites that I should check out?

Hotel California

San Diego has three hotels in the Hillcrest area. Two predominantly gay, both clean and serviceable, and the other quasi-gay hotel is the Sommerset Suite, which is nice but not inexpensive.

Frankly, if I were you, I would try http://www.hotwire.com for good rates on Hotels in the Mission Valley, Downtown, Old Town and whatever other areas appeal to you. The nice thing about Hot Wire is that you get to find out what you might end up with before you are forced to buy, but you have to register with them. Thus far, I don't seem to have gotten spam with it and I know other escorts (Devon and Stephen - PAC NW Escort among them) have used this site and been reasonable satisfied.

I have stuck with Priceline, but it takes patience and luck. Once I got stuck in a crappy hotel but othewise, I have stayed in two three star hotels in San Diego with great services, including gyms, free shuttle to airport, etc.

Los Angeles is very large and spread out. I would get a feel for where clients are and what you want to explore. Definitely avoid downtown and the aiport area, and unless a client will spring for it, avoid the Valley and Orange County.

The Sunset Strip in West Hollywood is where escorts tend to stay and there are a variety of chains there as well as nice boutique hotels. There is also the San Vicente Inn and Ramada in the heart of Boy's Town.

I could go on, if you want specifics feel free to private message me or email me directly. Definitely hit a book store and check out a Let;s Go, a Fodor's or a Sparticus guide.

Good luck!

In San Diego I would stay away from Hillcrest unless you must be in a gay ghetto. In Los Angeles WEHO is a decent place to stay. As probably mentioned the Ramada on Santa Monica Blvd is probably the best when you balance price and location with comfort.

You could always stay at my place in the LA area, cutie.

I'm sure we could work out something mutually beneficial. :9

(Before anyone yells, yes this is a tounge in cheek offer but hell, I've got a pornstar living in my place in Chicago and another living in my place in LA. What's another body? LOL)

You never invited me to Hotel Deej, not even for a handshake and to discuss the finer points of Casey William's work out routine....

Hillcrest

A working boy would want and even need to be in a gay ghetto, especially if that is where his clients predominate and he were going to do in calls. The worst thing possible would be to drive around San Diego trying to find a client in Normal Heights, Banker's Hills or even worst, the south bay, with a map on a first time visit.
