The child actors who played the youngsters in Slumdog Millionaire are having a hard time adjusting to life back in Mumbai. One, Ismail, has been beaten by his father, who wants more money since he still lives in a shack with tuberculosis. The girl wants to live somewhere where it doesn't smell like poo. So, was it a good idea after all to take them to the Oscars? See the story in Huffington Post:

This earlier article says they have each been given flats, but it will be a few months before they move in. Their new flats will be near the slums where their friends and extended families still live.
