On 42nd Street there's a place called "Dave and Buster's". It's advertised as "Eat, Drink and Play"...I always wondered what it was like as I heard they hosted children's parties. So, the other day I checked it out and it looked like fun, not only for kids but adults... It's something on the lines of a mini-casino.. Has anyone gone? How did you enjoy it? ... Coop

Hey Coop -

Took my two grandsons to the one in Columbus a few years ago for one of their birthdays. We had a great time. The food wasn't bad and the games kept spitting out winning tickets at me. Redeemed the tickets for "nice junk" that appealed to the birthday boy. The game area was as big or bigger than the restaurant area, as I recall. More adult-acceptable than Chuck E. Cheese.

A D&B in Time Square? Thats something I have to check out. Its one of the few places that still have arcade games.

Yes, quiet an experience. A bit too noisy and waaaay too many kids for me, but I'm sure it's a fun family-oriented place.

Alas, Times Square has become something of an amusement park for tourists and you can now find I-Hop, Red Lobster, McDonalds, Olive Garden and many other well-known chain restaurants in the area. Whether or not they will survive the recession is another story. Ruby Foo's just closed it doors. Of course, if you wander the side streets and 9th Avenue, you can find many fine smaller and family owned restaurants offering a better selection of cuisines.

Dave & Buster's Cable AD shows ADULTS with I believe some kind of a deal where you get Chips to Play after eating in the Restaurant?

Personally Times Square has and always will be a Tourist Trap FOOD wise! Many great places to eat outside of that area. ;-)

I've been to the Nashville location during the afternoon with children in the mix.

It's fun for them. They LOVE those carny/junk tickets.

Nights are suppose to be more free-flowing booze, loud dance music and doggy-style ass jamming across the air hockey tables...er...um...let's say--more adult activities.<g>
