Tyger, (Tygerscent - "Ty" Hudson) here!

Say... I just got back from LA. I am part of a group Fine Arts Show for the anniversary of the Radical Faeries. (If you don't know anything about them see the info below!). It's at Rick Castro's Gallery in LA, The Antebellum. (Rick is an amazing guy himself having photographed the Dalai Lama, American writer- Gore Vidal, 1970's porn star- Peter Berlin, producer Alan Poul (Six Feet Under, Tales of the City), filmmaker Kenneth Anger, and his longtime muse, model & actor-Tony Ward).

I had 15 of my Erotic images accepted and another renowned photographer submitted five other images of me for the show and they are all hanging up there now as I write. I also was pleased to get the front window space for two of my images. The flier can be viewed on my website at http://www.tygerscent.biz

That's only a quarter of the show though and other great renowed artists will be showing off their amazing works as well! The other listed artists include: GREG DAY, MARK THOMPSON, DANIEL NICOLETTA, MATTHIAS HERRMANN, STEVEE POSTMAN, MICHAEL BINGHAM, FLYNN DE MARCO, DAVID HOLLEN, LUC GEORGES, FAKIR MUSAFAR, RFD ARCHIVES and more! I'm honored to have my images amonst these outstanding artists and invite you to share in the festivities and celebration of the Anniversary of the Radical Faeries!

There are other fun events going on during the 6 week exhibit. I am one of them, (March 20th I'll be doing a Native American Rites of Passage Erotic performance art show but there will be several events going on during the 6 week run of the exhibit!) If nudity offends you, (and I think it doesn't), cover one of your eyes~

Antebellum presents

RADICAL FAERIE

~The 30th anniversary of a gay male counterculture exploration~

Opens- February 28th-Antebellum, known as the only fetish art gallery in the world, continues it's tradition of including the previously excluded cultural movements with a group of artworks presented for and by RADICAL FAERIES

In the summer of 1979, a group of gay men met somewhere in the

Arizona desert. Frustrated with the limitations of urban environments, gay men of all ages & backgrounds began exploration of themselves and their sexuality in more organic forms. A post-Stonewall movement was created. Various fractions of Radical Faeries continue to this day.

2009 marks the 30th anniversary of this unique group. This exhibition explores the movement's roots and perhaps where it is going in the future.

A HISTORY OF RADICAL FAERIES:

The Faeries trace the origin of their movement's name to a "Spiritual Conference for Radical Faeries" called in 1979 by Harry Hay, John Burnside, Don Kilhefner, and Mitch Walker in Benson, Arizona.

Originally consisting of gay men, the movement has spread throughout the world over the past decades since, in tandem with the larger gay rights movement, challenging the commercialization and patriarchal aspects of modern gay life while celebrating pagan constructs and rituals, and adapting rural living and environmentally sustainable concepts to modern technologies as part of human creative expression.

Faeries tend to be fiercely independent, anti-establishment and

community-focused. Some embody a feminized ideal, while others embody a fluid spectrum of gender expression -- feminine to masculine and all points between -- as a path towards transcending the limits of human social conditioning.

Radical Faeries vary greatly from region to region and often commune at large gatherings timed with the seasons and solar system, especially the Equinox and Solstice.

In the beginning, the movement consisted only of gay men. However,

Radical Faeries today embody a wide range of genders and sexual

orientations, and most sanctuaries are open to all. Radical Faerie communities practice "queer-themed spirituality" associated with radical politics, paganism or neopaganism, feminism, gender liberation, and may encompass any and all religions or a lack of them.

About the gallery

Antebellum is the ONLY fetish art gallery in America,

(and perhaps the world).

The gallery is located at 1643 North Las Palmas Avenue, in the heart of downtown Hollywood.

Steeped in Victorian nuances, with a distressed salon style,

Antebellum is intended as a hybrid of artistic, cultural, and

political iconoclasm.

The term antebellum is Latin for, "before war" and while it commonly refers to a more romantic Gone With the Wind era, we find ourselves again today with American culture at odds with political/religious/social agendas that threaten to blow the lid off its foundations at any given moment.
