About the last part, can you clarify, you are looking for extras, but you don't want to tip extra for it? Or you expected it to be cheaper? Or you expected not to have to negotiate (which is fair, Rodriigo was out of line to ask for $). Or you would like extra with someone who looks different?

As I mentioned earlier, this was my first time there, inspired by a post on another social site mentioning a $40 maximum range. The post also pointed out that tipping isn’t typically discussed while you’re on the massage table but afterward. (like there was also a discussion about how someone performed oral sex and it was a natural progression)

Personally, I wouldn’t have minded tipping after leaving the room. If he had provided some “extra” service, I would have gladly tipped more than I did.

What’s helpful about this thread is learning that $60 is considered reasonable—I wasn’t aware of that, so it’s definitely something useful to know.

As I said, where I come from back home, massages usually come with a happy ending. No one asks if you need it. Of course they might negotiate politely and say “could you tip more” but that’s usually the norm. I’ve never been asked on the massage table for extras and cost related.

You come from a really nice place, I'd love to visit a spa there! Where?

Yes, especially if he gets naked and lets you touch, I don't think that is unreasonable. I think most spa masseurs expect $1 per minute. The last time I tipped only $40 was 6 or 7 years ago.

Strange that he would ask you. I've had Rodrigo as a masseur too and he just added the extras without asking before. Maybe Rodrigo was unsure and wanted to get explicit consent before? Although I find it strange he would explicitly mention the tip in that instance. It's generally thought of as not good when the masseur does this since it can ruin the mood.

If the masseur gets naked also and lets you touch him, that's really extra EXTRA service. Last time this happened to me I tipped 100%. The massage was 90 dollars and I tipped 90 dollars to the masseur.

I’m beginning to understand why we’re asked for tips on the table.

I came across This post on Reddit and these dudes have 0 clue about massage etiquette and tipping.

I feel like if you’re not willing to pay someone for their services, go on Grindr.

Agree on this. Some of the masseurs tell me they are not being respected and are being groped during the session and are tipped 5/10 for a 60 mins session.

Alven at Energy is amazing - if you can get on his calendar. He's always booked up. Hot hot man...

I agree I think alven is great, he does really great deep tissue massage if you’re really in need of it- which I am. I saw him all Time while he was at time square men spa which is closer to where I live but willing to travel a little more to see him. Def would recommend as well booking in advance if you can , first thing in the morning for a later afternoon appointment. Good looking guy and great detail to attention

Agree. I have gotten quite a bit of extras at a spa and tipping $100 was very warmly received. However $40 for the HE seems more reasonable imo.

Kenny is a lot of fun too, but a lot chubbier than the other guys. It is not obvious when he has a t shirt on, but if you are looking to see some abs, it might not be your luck.

That said, I enjoyed my time with him a lot.

I wouldn’t call him “chubby” I think he’s pretty fit, not as twinky as the other guys at time square men’s spa atm. He’s strong, fairly dominant and ready to please. Overly Decent massage with mixed feelings , I felt good overall , I’d definitely try him again, I tend to get massages after a bottle of wine in me which makes it bit more difficult to …. Relax… if you catch my drift, so that’s on me, but the guys there were great, no complaints, happy to satisfy

Has anyone tried any of the massage places around 8th st and 6th ave in NYC? I see lots of the male therapists just hanging outside when not working.

Do you happen to know the name of the spa?

Has anyone ever tried Michael at Shangrila? I’ve been looking for this asian masseur with tattoos who used to work at Tsms, was told his name’s Michael. I also found out that there’s a Michael who works at Shangrila.

The Energy Mens Spa website has a provider named Alvin (with an I).  Others on here discuss Alven (with an E, which is an unusual spelling).

On RM, there's a provider called AlvenH.  (See below).  Are these all the same people?  I see a lot of positive reviews about "Alven," but several ones that aren't so great about Alvin from TSMS.

Trying to figure out who is who, and who I want to see!  Any guidance would be appreciated.

RENTMASSEUR.COM

Gay Masseur AlvenH in New York City, NY offering a wide range of massages experienced in therapeutic, sensual, erotic, swedish, hotStone, deepTissue.

Same guy yes and like all of them YMMV. Remember Everyone has different likes regarding style of massage, attraction to the provider, and work ethic as well ie negotiating tips, or upselling etc. So I say best to just jump in and try someone, see who and what works for you.🤷🏻‍♂️

Based on Google, this looks like All Seasons Spa. Website and posted photos look like a coed spa with mainly (only?) male masseurs. Looks like a prime spot for a foot massage!

Yes, these are coed places. It’s not just one spa, though. These businesses are practically next to each other.

I recommend Renew Body Wellness on this street (which a kind soul suggested to me by DM). Very affordable and both massages I've had there (Frank and Danny) have been great. While it's co-ed they do have a lot of male masseurs.

This isn’t a HE spa tho.
