I was able to make a last minute appointment at Energy Spa the other day. I have had a couple of massages by Jack recently and was happy to be able to see him again. He is Thai, and while his massage style does have some Western influences, I was still transported to Bangkok while he he gave a very nice "Thai style" massage starting from the feet and working his way up.  I don't usually think of the masseurs at Energy Spa as having any decent skills but Jack the exception to the norm.

Can you tell me more about Jack physically? Thin? Young?

I am just baffled - and it should be a much bigger outrage as our tax money (at a time when there is little surplus of it) is being used - that the time and energy and money it takes to shut down spas, because god forbid a bunch of queens get relaxed AND get a hand job, is somehow a priority not only for the NYPD but for the city and its resources.  There are people being kicked out of their homes because their careers were completely destroyed by a pandemic. There are victims of domestic violence who’ve been forced to stay home with said violence for the better part of two years now. There are addicts who were sober but lost all access to their therapist and other addiction treatments who are walking a daily tightrope to maintain their sobriety (many have fallen off, and understandably as they’ve been all but forgotten). HOW and WHY is it ACCEPTABLE in ANY priority list to shut down a fucking spa?!   It is just inane and offensive and completely inhumane. And quite honestly, it’s the kind of thing that the gay community should care about now that it seems to have nothing uniting it anymore.  Where are the leaders, now that everyone takes PreP and we can marry a dude???  What happened to them??  Were the causes that self-focused?  The entire thing being only discussed on this random website on page 172 of one thread shows a gay community in repose, and a repose that is unflattering and privileged in the worst way.  And it is this type of repose that will be noticed by those who seek to take hard-fought rights away as soon as they get the chance. (Though, we’ve all allowed taking rights away to be put on the fast track as we’ve rolled over to every piece of “guidance” the last two years, even when it makes little to no sense).
Most of these guys who work at these spas have very few other legal options - would they prefer these men sell meth? Many are sending money to their family in whatever country they’ve come from, and now it will be more difficult. The fact that ANY person paid by the public spends even TEN MINUTES pursuing these businesses should outrage ALL of us.

Moderators' Reminder:  No politics in the Spa.

I’m seeking a massage this evening at Utopia. I am looking for young, thin twinky asian. If you know of someone there please let me know. Thanks

A friend just recently tried David at Utopia and said he gave an excellent massage.  It was more about a great massage and less about the extras but heard they were adequate as well.

I understand that Utopia lists their available masseurs on-line on their website where you can make your appointment as well.

First off, I agree entirely, but I’ll play devils advocate. Let’s pretend someone lives next to one of these spas and they think having “this type of business” reduces their value. They call the police several times. As tax paying citizens, the police owe them a follow up.

Or let’s say someone is fearful of sex trade and thinks (incorrectly) that they are doing the workers a favor.

Or let’s just say someone is an asshole but they are on a mission and call the cops repeatedly.

The reality is that these shops are illegal, not only for the sex trade concerns but because I can’t imagine more than 10% actually have licenses to perform massage. Enjoy that this option (and so many of them) exist. NY is the ONLY city in the US where this remotely exists.

Utopia makes it very easy to schedule a massage.  Their website lists who is available at whast time, in 30 minute intervals, and you can schedule several days in advance.  They will send you a confirmation, and then an email reminder 24 hours before your appointment.

I had a really good massage with David, who is from Colombia, who emphasized technical aspects of the massage over erotic elements.  But the massage was so good that I didn't mind an omission or two.  (Yes, HE included.)  Danny is Asian, twinky, and is the reverse of David in what he emphasizes in his massage.

No pretending needed! People are sanctimonious assholes. Up until a few months ago, I had lived on a snotty East Village block for 18 years. A massage spot opened in the building next to me, another 5 doors down. There was no noticeable nefarious activities, the fronts were in no way an eye sore and both closed by 10pm. Some of my neighbors had a mission to get these business off the block and openly bragged about calling the police. They succeeded.

Does anybody have any experience with Morning Dew Spa in the Village? (7th Ave / Perry St).  I just noticed it yesterday while walking around the area. Until now, I’ve never noticed it nor heard of it.  They seem to have good reviews on Yelp.

Any recommendations?

That’s funny… one of massage spots that I mentioned getting run off my block was “Evening Dew Spa”. They had masseurs and masseuses.

Wonder if it’s the same owner?

Good reviews by the staff, owner or real customers

any review with 1 total review by the reviewer is not reliable

Such valuable commentary... 🙄 It's almost as if you are rooting for them to fail. How charming!

Why did they get busted?  Do you even know. Of course I am not rooting but why did this spa get busted? And not others?

No, I don't know why they were shut down. Do you know or are you just making assumptions and stirring the pot? Do you also remember when Hero Spa on W 50th was closed ("busted" as you like to say)? Did other spas get shut down then too? I don't believe so. I'd say you were being a "Debbie Downer" but at least she was funny. There's no need for the doom and gloom.

I am not the one who reported it was raided.
the poster wrote it was raided.  Interpret that as you wish

No need to argue.  We all love our favorite masseurs and are in support of the spas.  It would be awful without looking forward to them.  I recall around the same time that they hit Hero, W Man Spa was also closed for a time before re-opening for the same reason.  We can all speculate on the cause for it from licensing issues, someone bragging about their ending including full service or a non-regular client being peppered with upcharges for said full service and then reporting it.  This is why the admins of this forum continue to remind us about posting certain intimate details of our massage session on here.  Spa 27 has 2 locations and from what I gather on this forum, business must be good with many handsome masseurs who are willing to satisfy our desires.

All good but for me there are other places I would prefer for now based on what happened.  To each his own bro
