That's way more than enough and I would not go that high on a first experience unless it was extraordinary. As far as a masseur soliciting tips mid- message, it is a complete turn-off for me and will let them know it. I won't hesitate and if we don't have a mutual understanding of how I feel, I don't return. It does not ever happen with my regulars and they know if they treat me right, they will be rewarded. As soon as they suggest a price it's a complete turn off and I always say "no thanks, just a massage please" I do recall a few times they did it anyway because they probably didn't want a crappy tip. The WORST was the masseur who asked for a tip in the middle of the massage, and the second worst was the guy who suggested a price range. Then came the guy who gave the client a dirty "look." This is fine with him. (He often has discounted specials.) I have another masseur, who charges $100 for 90 minutes, and I give him $120. The first time I did that, he said, "You know, my rate is only $100." (I just feel weird paying only $100 for 90 minutes.) I merely said, "Yes, I know. That's OK." As I've pointed out before, the spa masseurs keep only 1/3 of what we pay. I am kinda surprise by the responses to Adam because I didn’t get that impression .i must say however that during My last massage he left the room about four times and although he apologies , it kinda ruined the session for me . Adam gives a good massage but if that situation happens to me I would definitely stop going I am not sure if I tip generiously , I think I do because it’s usually 50% or 100% . As I mention it’s only recently I started going to the spa. I did have negative experience with the Egyptian at 27 men and with two guys at Super men as much so that I don’t go back . I feel that type of reaction spoils the experience . Looking to try other places any suggestions ? Any private masseuse that are reasonably priced ? Ok the massage was decent , I believe I did a 90 mins with him . A friendly guy but then coming close to the end he did The happy stufff which was ok but afterwards he mentioned that’s usually he gets a high tip . So the massage was 90 , I tipped him 80 to 90 in the room and his openly expressed his disappointment , I tipped further when I paid at the desk. To be honest, The massage i felt like he just did it just to pass the time. Probably he thought we (Clients) wouldn't know or feel that he couldn't care. I believe all of us in this room are generous with $$$ but many time you spoiled all this guys. That's why all about asked for the tips during session is happened or something like not pay attention of their job happened by they pick & choose. The end of the day they forgot what they job description is and look down at other (Even their own clients) !!!?! I'm going back to my Spas that i like in Chelsea!!! What spas in Chelsea ???? Nice friendly guy and all, but the constant slurping and sucking on his hard candy during the session was super-annoying and unprofessional. I asked him exactly what he had in his mouth to cause so much noise. He responded “oh it’s candy, why is there anything wrong? “. Duh, yes. Next, I literally gagged when he bent down in front of my face attempting a neck massage—his breath reeked of garlic (DESPITE all that sucking on that candy a few minutes prior—not sure how that was even possible). Finally, he never quite caught on regarding the pressure and he really needed to trim his fingernails. It was supposed to be a 1-hr session. I cut it short and left after 25 or so minutes. I just chalked it up to him needing more experience. The first time I tried 27 I had Constantine and he was great. Oh well. I’ll give it another go, but this time with one of the other guys.
