So Brad Pitt has a new movie out, one where he is made-up to look different ages. Yet thhe Brad Pitt I want to see is the one in the promo print ad for the movie. He lies naked, stomach down, on a bed with Cate Blanchett resting her head on his shoulder...his hair is mussed up, they both look rather content. He is grabbing the pillow...just as I would have him do were I in the Blanchett position...geez, what a fantasy!

That's what I wished for, too, when I saw the ad. But keep in mind Pitt is supposed to have tremendous body odor. A turn on for some, but not for me. One wonders what his co-stars endure when they shoot a scene like this one.

Well, remember that this is a fantasy, and not a reality. I also wonder what the reality is about the body odor rumor. He always looks pretty well-groomed to me, and he wouldn't get those beautiful women if he really smelled bad. People who get jealous of beautiful guys like to find a way to put them down. And, don't forget the single most popular escort response to a review that they didn't like: "He smelled!"

You may be right. I have heard this B.O. story from a number of sources, though, including a man who worked crew on one of Pitt's films. The crew person was asked by my friend if he thought Pitt was gay. He said he didn't think so, but that the actor had the worst body odor he'd ever been around. The source of this story was a journalist who gives no credence to gossip. (There are a few of them.)

It's a kind of reverse snobbery -- be above wearing deodorant, showering.

I hear Ethan Hawke is also on the "stinky list." From sightings in the nabe, I'd say he looks a few days away from a shower.

Not Keanu!

You may be right, this B.O. rumor may be some sort of pay back.

Legend has it the famed Method Actors of the '50s had lousy hygiene. James Dean's body odor, according to Donald Spoto's bio., was legend. A bio of John Wayne says that when Geraldine Page showed up to work with him on "Hondo," her teeth were rotten stubs and she had intense body odor. Wayne refused to work with her until she got her teeth capped and her pits scrubbed.

Another story has an exasparated actor saying to Page, "When are you ever going to take a bath?" She said she had more important things to do.

Why not ask Rockhard? I heard he had lunch with Brad and Angelina a few weeks ago, and dinner with Keanu and David Geffen.

I heard it was lunch with Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes, and dinner with Madonna and Alex Rodriguez.

But I could be confused.
