There is a provider I plan on hiring for the first time who now goes by a different screen name than he used to. A search on YouTube of his old screen name results in a collection of singing videos that he has posted. Apparently he recorded an album under his old escort name.

My question is-- when meeting him for the first time, would it be ok to mention I came across those videos and ask him about his music? I'm thinking on the one hand, it could be a way of engaging him in something he's obviously passionate about, but on the other hand it might be perceived as violating his privacy, although he did post them under his former rentmen screen name...

Any thoughts?

I don't think I would mention it during the first meeting. It's best to keep that one fairly professional IMO. But if you guys hit it off and he comes a regular, I don't think that it would be a big deal if you mentioned it. Something to talk about over dinner or something like that.

Ok, thanks for the input, gentlemen. I will remain silent on that matter and focus on *other subjects * 😊 during our first meeting.

I think I’d want to know him pretty well before bringing it up, if at all. BUT in the course of future sessions, I’d ask him about his interests and I bet he’ll open up on that subject at some point.
