Recession is hurting all over, but there are silver linings. New York prices might drop a bit, especially the hotels which have been so cheap for rich Europeans and British. One of of the unexpected benefits of the Bush recession is that the dollar is up. The Canadian dollar no longer has parity as the dollar is up this year by 28.1% Montreal boys should thus stay busy.

In Rio, the dollar has really suffered until recently. Now it is up 29.9% against the real.

The Euro has also taken a beating, losing 16% to the dollar. But it is my trip to Great Britain that benefits most as the dollar is up 24.9% against the pound.

Not to forget Thailand, where the dollar is up 15.3%. The political turmoil is also hurting the travel industry, so room rates should fall even more.

Then again, my assets are down 100%, leaving all of this pretty meaningless! (Just kidding, they are really only down 90%)
