October is traditionally the month for scary movies, and Oliver Stone does not disappoint with his movie W, based upon a man who once led the United States as its president. The movie is very well done, avoiding some of the exaggerations typical of a Stone movie. You don't have to like or be a fan of the main character to see the movie as a valuable addition to history from a reasonably objective point of view.

There are few surprises in the movie for anyone who followed the career of W, but seeing them played out brings home some of the intensity of his actions and that of those who surrounded him. Ultimately, I left the movie satisfied that I had seen something worthwhile yet saddened at the enormity of the consequences of our recent elections.
