I think it’s possible that when that comment was made, he may have been on the thicker side, probably just a covid 15 😂 but still looked so great. He’s definitely trimmed and I won’t complain about his body since seeing him recently. The abs speak for themselves. Still one of NYC’s best in my opinion

I’ve touched base with him again after my last awesome session, every once and a while they (Ken and JJ) will set aside days where they try and only line up 4 hands, apparently they also do this when traveling together. But he does in fact still see clients 1 on 1. Last week I contacted him to set up an appointment in Philly. He replied several hours later. Very cordial reply, saying that the date and time I proposed should work. In the same text he asked if I'd be interested in a 4-handed session. I replied no, saying that I'd prefer a solo session on first meeting. He did not bother to reply to that  message. Very unprofessional, if you ask me. He should make it clear in his ad that he and his partner only offer 4-handed massages. Or at least he should have had the courtesy to reply that at present he's only offering 4-handed massages.

An easy way to get a sense of any RM provider's pricing, esp. if they don't list it, is to look at any reviews they have, and see what reviewers reported they paid (although factor in that that might include tips). The cheapest hourly for therapeutic seems to be in the $200 range

For clarity: I asked rate/ location a month ago but never asked availability as I couldn’t find time. This week I requested a specific time and asked his rate again  - as the rate quoted before was described as a “promo.” He responded saying he already told me his rate and that he was only available at an earlier time. I told him I only asked rate because his previous quote was a “promo” - and also that the earlier time wouldn't work. He then replied saying he didn’t appreciate my “spotty communication.”

What? It was literally 3 brief texts. And I was clear, concise and respectful. I always am. My experience seems different from others which is a bummer as he looked promising. But I don’t have time for games or attitude.

I had a very similar experience. I tried to reschedule after HE canceled for some emergency. When I reached back out, he said something like “well now you want an appointment, I thought you lost interest”.  He had canceled on me!  

Anyway, maybe these guys get a lot of annoying messages, but a way to avoid so many inquires and messages that lead to nothing: Publish your rates. This should not be a guessing game! And tell us where you are located because that can make all the difference in whether I wish or have time to come see you. 

Provide customers with basic information in your ad and get fewer pointless inquiries. It’s a win-win for everyone and it’s basic common sense.

What am I missing that makes this more complicated than necessary?

I am sad to see that he is pushing it with the rates, and it seems that things usually get worse if a masseur pairs up with another one to offer 4-hands. They prefer to work together and may even travel with just one table. You never know whether they'll drop you if someone wanting 4 hands comes along in the meantime. In Tampa now, I think I'll skip.
