I created a blog and would like to know what you think.

Here is the link http://www.AndreHasABlog.blogspot.com

I’m looking for ideas for content that you guys might think is interesting. The blog is to promote my business and give my clients another way to keep up with me and my travels. I would also like to attract people that might not otherwise go there. So what kind of things would be interesting or entertaining?

Let’s hear it! And I hope you enjoy

RE: Andre Has a Blog. Yippee!

If a hot, young gay man doesn't have a really good sense of "what kind of things would be interesting or entertaining" to other gay men, you might want to consider using your time doing something else. Blogs are ubiquitous these days and, unless you plan to display new nude photos of yourself in a weekly rotation or have a clever writing style with interesting things to say about EVERYTHING, you run the risk of settling on a narcissistic diary (nothing new) or some boring, meaningless, I'll-get-to-it-when-I-feel-like-it garrulous blather. (See: Adler, Munroe.)

Good luck.

The thread is about Andre's new blog, and I think it would be respectful of him to keep it that way. Can't a guy ask for advice without other rivalries coming into play?

Andre, to the best of my knowledge, is bi or straight. So to ask us for ideas on what might appeal to us is a good way to help get his blog off the ground. For my money, he does have a good sense of what appeals to us since his photos are right on the dime to attract gay men who like his look.

I'm not the guy to ask about blogs, since I wasn't able to keep mine up, but I am sure there are some good ideas to be had and I will be interested to hear them.

"Bringing Cunty To a Whole New Old Level"

Honey, I wouldn't play with the word "old" if I were you. In escort years, your candles are rivaling those of Entourage's Bob Ryan. Furthermore, wasn't it you who told me long ago the "C" in MC stood for "Cunts?"

"Can't a guy ask for advice without other rivalries coming into play?"

On this board? Oh, Lucky. How charming to see a man your age try to play naive.

"Andre, to the best of my knowledge, is bi or straight."

And Benjamin Nicholas is still 23. My knowledge knows better.

"So to ask us for ideas on what might appeal to us is a good way to help get his blog off the ground."

Since a blog can be considered a form of entertainment (or a sign of nothing better to do with one's time), asking for ideas before you launch the product might make more sense. Once launched, it seems silly to openly ask, "OK, what do you think I should do now?"

"he does have a good sense of what appeals to us since his photos are right on the dime to attract gay men who like his look."

I did suggest a new weekly rotation.

"I'm not the guy to ask about blogs"

Then why open your trap?

"since I wasn't able to keep mine up"

Have you tried Viagra?

"I am sure there are some good ideas to be had and I will be interested to hear them."

Since he already broke the golden graphic rule for reading on the net (NO BLACK BACKGROUND), he could reconsider the average reading age of his blog-viewing demographic. Sixty-year-old men wearing their Helen Keller tri-focals are going to be pretty pissed.

Since the black background does seem to augment Andre's lovely olive skin tone, how about a pictures only blog? They say pictures can speak a thousand words. Think of the time that could save you, Andre.

Its a nice looking blog. I do agree with rockhard If you plan on having the blog take interest in it. Try too post something once a week or so.

How about "Good Times" - something fun, interesting, sexy, educational, entertaining that you did with a client?

No names or personal info of course, but clients and prospective clients might get a kick out of seeing what you enjoyed in a few of the week's hookups.

Always fresh material, and you could have fun with the headlines:

"He took me to his favorite club, then I showed him mine!"

"Who knew eyes could roll that far back?!!"

"Nobody loses at strip poker."

"Ask me anything about Harleys!"

"Camping: It's not just for Boy Scouts."[/color]

Right now it's not a blog, imho. It's a site based on blogging software that's serving as an advertisement for your services. If you'd like to engage people and have repeat visitors you need to offer something of yourself on it. Personal experiences and insights - updated pictures, even if they're just candid shots of you doing stuff and out in the world and not just posed shots. See if the software allows for more interactivity on the part of the people visiting, like making your pics clickable so that they can be enlarged (!) - and polls for people visiting. Polls are fun, "I had this happen yesterday, what would you do if...: choose A, B, C." Those are just some initial quick thoughts.

In general think of your blog as a place where you can put thoughts out there and create an interaction with people who visit. If you'd just like an advertisement, cool but it's not a blog.

I do some website design so that's my 2 cents ;)

Good luck with it!

Andre,

I hope your blog helps you increase your business. I enjoy reading http://www.ralphwoodsblog.com because his posts are pretty frequent and he adds a pic or two and lets us know what is going on in his world. I hope that suggestion helps.

You are on my list to hire...hopefully soon!

I thought the 'nice video' comment was sarcastic at first because it didn't play for me either... ;) But it seems to be a browser issue - did not work for me with Firefox, but when I tried it with Internet Explorer it worked fine!

So, Andre, now that I can see it, - nice video! :)

Look forward to seeing more on your blog soon!
