Sadness over loss of 70s & 80s porn star

I know this post may strike some as odd. During the 70s, often referred to as the "Golden Age of Porn", I was a student at Berkeley. There was a pornographic theatre in downtown Berkeley. As a young man coming to terms with my own homosexuality, I needless to say, was a regular on Wednesdays when the films changed. There was even a discount for Cal students (2.50).

 

I remember a young, attractive man I instantly fell in lust with. His name was David Morris, and his boyish good looks instantly got me hard. I made to sure to see his films when they came out. He helped convince me I was gay. I was so attracted to him, I could no longer view this as a "phase". There was a wholesome quality to his look that made him so sexually attractive to me. There was something about him that effected me in a way no other porn star, escort or male celebrity did. I can't explain it.

 

I discovered on a "dead porn star" site he died of a drug overdose. I've seen other porn stars die of either drugs or AIDS, but David's death really saddened me. I felt so awful that someone so attractive would need to dull the pain of life through drugs.

 

I spent a great part of today thinking of people like David who die these needless deaths. I suppose porn does destroy people and their feelings of self-worth. I do have one of his few gay films. Now, realizing he's gone, it only makes me sad.

I absolutely remember him! But not as 'boyishly handsome'. Rather, he had a super hot guido-ish-Tony-Danza-Stallone quality about him. You don't mention that he was a predominantly straight porn star. But I do remember he was in at least one gay flick - CENTURIANS OF ROME, with another object of my young lust, George Payne. I used to seek out their names in the credits of any porn film - gay or straight.

 

I remember seeing David Morris fuck the Ivory Snow girl, Marilyn Chambers, on a pool table in a huge hit film called INSATIABLE. His rippled torso was unlike any I had ever seen at the time. That image was burned in my memory for a long time! I, too was sorry to read of his untimely death.

As we all know, beauty on the outside sometimes bears no relation to what is on the inside. Sometimes beautiful people are the most messed up inside and that's often why they turn to drugs. Look at the modeling industry or Hollyweird -- much higher rates of drug use than among the general public. Very sad.

After almost 20 Years in the Porn Biz, you won't find too many who aren't into Drugs in one form or another.

 

As far as "The Golden Age of Porn"..Grainy Film, Terrible Sound Tracks, Bad Haircuts, Moustaches that made every Guy look 10 years Older than he was! And they are STILL making guys that have them TODAY..though few.. most have wised up...look 10 years Older! HaHa

 

The only guy I remember from the VHS Days is...

GORDON GRANT! BUT his look definitely was before its Time! IMHO of course! ;-)
