RE: PERSPECTIVE

"I did not graduate from Boston College so perhaps I do not have the same perspective as you."

I enjoyed reading your thoughts about Tim Russert on "Meet The Press."

Although, I believe Russert did not do a good job on the debates. He seemed out of place and sometimes unnecessarily provocative with his questions.

There is no doubt that I look at this situation differently having attended Boston College. For the last five day, NBC/MSNBC has been presenting only one view of Irish Catholics and Boston College.

That view was restated again this morning by Maria Shriver, who mentioned that when she went to work for NBC, Russert said: "We are both Irish and Catholic, we need to watch out for each other." There was a time when that was true, especially in Boston. It is not true anymore. My educated guess is that the average BC student today would understand where Tim Russert was coming from, but reject it as out of date. The situation is not unlike young African-Americans who see Obama through a very different prism than their parents and grandparents.

< TOM BROKAW will be the new host of Meet the Press.

Hmmm. Catholic Answers Forums, the largest Catholic Community on the Web, seems to have reservations.

It seems Brokaw is not Catholic. Whatever will those Pink Prada sycophants do without a network cock to worship? }(

Oh well, there's always the accounts of the Nazi Prada Pope who swallows.

Umm ... that is, if TBL can manage to get an audience. }( Which, of course, would give a whole new meaning to the term "audience." :9 :9

Ahhhhh... some more of your delusional anti-Catholic bigotry on display. What a shame when we honor the memory of Tim.
