American Idol fashion comment

I'm not an extremely fashion-minded person. For those of you who watched Idol tonight, what did you think of what Carrie Underwood wore? I thought it was rather unique and quite nice.

 

Though I have never had a desire to wear any type of women's clothing, seeing Carrie's outfit tonight reminded me how boring men's clothing is.

Call me old-fashioned, but I feel uncomfortable when a woman's skirt is so short you can tell if she is wearing a tampon or not. Her outfit tonight was nothing more than a jacket.

I don't think men's clothing is boring. For me, what's boring is that too many men choose to wear the same thing year after year; for example, the uniform of cargo shorts (or cargo pants) with sneakers and little ankle socks and a baseball cap. When is that look going away already? :o

Finally found a pic of what I was talking about. What I found unique was the piece of fabric that came out of the jacket arms forming cool sleeves and that also were attached to each other, forming that flowing piece behind her. I'll admit the pics don't do it much justice. As I watched her performance, it caught my attention and thought it was very attractive.
