This morning's news has a report of our attorney general calling for Craigs List to stop carrying ads for prostitutes. He says they have explicit pix, offers of sex, and rates per hour.

 

Now might be a good time to avoid Craigs List in Connecticut.

I will never understand the amount of law enforcement time and resources spent on this kind of thing.

 

And the thing about Craig's List is ... it's one of the few places you can find some gems who are not $300 per hour pros. That, and occasionally, manhunt and adam4adam.

Before you can even hope to understand it, you must firstly understand the small deranged minds of the right wing conservative so-called Christian nutjobs who are the cause of these archaic laws still being on the books.

Since Spitzer, the press has been full of answers to that question. FEMALE prostitutes are often under aged, coerced, kidnapped, addicted, etc. And, they are regularly abused/beaten. Women working in the thousand dollar bracket are a rare exception. Even liberal Amsterdam is working to trim its red light district.

 

I have seen no mention in all these articles of MALE prostitution. This side of the profession seems to be pretty crime free (other than that obvious technicality).

 

It appears that the authorities don't see the difference.

An old friend of mine from high school is a nationally prominent First Amendment attorney whose practice for over 30 years has centered on defense of "Adult Activities" in all kinds of venues. He and I recently had lunch and I asked him why it seems that male prostitute raids and stings are far less common than female raids and stings (notwithstanding the sting that caught Jeff in Ohio here and the fairly recent Las Vegas Craig's List sting). He answered quickly, "Because it's hard to get male cops to put themselves in a sexual situation involving another male."

 

Makes sense to me. :7

Porn and Prostitution are two things that liberals and conservatives come together on. Truth be told they both agree that if porn and prostitution were both gone the world would be a better place.

 

John Ashcorft hired ~40 Forensic investigators to cull through all of the porn sites and look for 2257 violations in an attempt to bring the industry to it's knees. That is one hell of a waste of tax payer's money. John Ashcroft would hardly be considered a liberal.

Porn and Prostitution are two different things. There is a whole range of porn that is -- and should be -- illegal. I have no problem with that at all.

 

On prostitution, it is the far left crazy feminist bitches who are causing these laws to stay on the books and insisting on new laws that go after the "johns." I'm just grateful they don't give a shit about male prostitution.

 

Anyone who doesn't realize those facts is just playing with their partisan-tinted glasses, that's all.

 

It's easy to blame the right for everything but that doesn't require any thinking which I realize is easier.
