Being young and gay can still be difficult despite the gains we have made. A survey released Wednesday says that 40% of gay youth have considered suicide in the last year. The survey ended just before the coronavirus explosion, so the effects of the pandemic were not considered. "For young queer individuals, being forced to isolate with unsupportive families might pose a further obstacle. Forty percent of LGBTQ youth reported in the survey that they were unable to receive care due to concerns over parental support. "

That's just terrible on it's own. However, I wish the Huff was a real news source and would provide some context. How does that percentage compare to 25-30 years ago? How much worse is it than the rate for straight kids; was a comparison study done? And are U.S kids in better shape than those in other countries?
