I decided to resurrect this thread as I heard that the actor Patrick Swayze died today of pancreatic cancer. It was unfortunate that this thread got a litle side-tracked by discussions of other types of cancer but, IMO, that is the nature of the beast. Cancer, once it touches you, becomes a very personal issue.

 

I am not a great film afficionado and have not seen any of the great films associated with Mr. Swayze. Nevertheless, I pay tribute to anyone who has made his mark on a generation of film-goers. I offer my condolences to his family and friends.
