Still finding it increasingly enlightening that no one in the LA area has posted that they know ANYONE in our massage community, on either side of the table, that had contracted the disease?

That is a good thing, in my opinion. Rather than a flood of people saying they know someone.

You can now get the antibody test at your local CityMD.

You have to be careful as many of these tests are coming back false positive. A friend had it according to his doctor. He went to

City MD and turns out it came out negative. Our country needs to ramp up accurate testing.

You are correct. I had it done and initially it showed I have acute infection but asymptomatic. I had it repeated and showed negative virus and negative antibodies.

Suppose an asymptotic provider or client did reveal a positive result from a recent c-19 test. Or that the family of a favorite client was getting ill...Does one do this before or after the encounter? How long after? Would this info halt the proceedings then and there? or bring odds of repeat encounter to zero?

Would really like to hear views on these realities about everyone viewing their personal risk.

For me this echoes HIV in terms of the mass simultaneous learning curve about the virus itself, its symptoms, and the behavioral role in its transmission, except now it’s all in fast forward... as is life...

Until we know more, maybe it’s every man for himself.

Assume everyone inside the 6’ radius has the potential to pass it on?

Except for that one hot hairy daddy with those eyes and a perfect rugger ass...

Risk/Benefit

Pease stay well

Great use of the word “asymptotic”...

...a line that approaches a curve but never touches. A curve and a line that get closer but do not intersect are examples of a curve and a line that are asymptotic to each other.

...a masseur and a client that approach each other but never intersect. Perfect for these times!

I don't think you'll get many people talking about it. There is definitely a lot of massaging going on or else these guys wouldn't be getting reviews, spend money advertising, etc, but a lot of people feel it's their place to throw shame and judgment around, especially on here - lots of holier than thous judging escorts, MTs and the rest of us. Easier to keep your mouth shut than trigger loudmouths who feel they are COVID experts and therefore have the right to tell others how to make their own medical decisions... especially when they have nothing but free time and a keyboard.

The only issue here is that once the masseur lays his hands on you, the lines intersect. And if the masseur should offer you a BJ, all precautions are out the window assuming one cannot perform wearing a mask! It's a hard nut to crack but to each his own as everything in life. You make your decision and then deal with the consequences. Hopefully, the reward will be greater than the risk.

Again, not looking for admissions. Just a do you know anyone in our community? Still have yet to hear of anyone.

I ventured out and saw my regular guy based on the some mutual trust and the lack of any affitmative replies here. Sooooo glad I did.

So, I realize it's only been 5 days since I created this post, but I find it interesting that not a single member has posted that they know a client or a massuer who has had the virus. Especially in L.A.

Anyone? Buehler? Buehler?

I had a client pass away the first week of February - 2 days after I left him. It wasn't until a month ago that I realized it very well could have been COVID-19. Including him, that's 3 people I've known who this has killed. As for providers with COVID-19, I know a LOT who think they've had it. None of them have been tested.

Thank you for sharing this information. This is exactly what I was looking for. Stay safe.

Not in California. Spent hours trying to navigate how to get antibody test last week. Gave up.

Quest Diagnostics does serological testing (antibody) without a prescription if you're willing to fork out $129. Go online to their site and make a reservation. A lot of the serological tests that are out there have a high false-positive and high false-negative rate (any test with an error rate > 1% is not worth taking). Quest is using two of the better ones. There are some places giving free PCR tests but those are useful for people who think that they might have an active infection. If you think you were infected and have recovered, do the serological test.

Thank you! When I went in the FDA website the only approved test Quest had was diagnostic for COVID 19... no antibody. Wil look again:)

Quest is a disaster in California, which causes many thousands of backlogs in the Covid-19 test in March. I really doubt that all testers got the results finally.
