Thinking of family and friends

It is time, and more, to think about family and/or friends who might need some financial assistance in these difficult times. If we are finacially able to do so this is the time to take out our check books and send something to those we love who are in financial need.

And don't forget the self-employed service providers who suddenly find themselves being told they are not needed right now, like your cleaning lady, dog walker, barber, etc.

Today I’m going to buy haircuts in advance at my barber shop. I also ordered a Wahl clipper from Amazon which is scheduled to arrive on Friday. If I really screw it up, I’ll just wear a hat for the duration. I’ve always cleaned my own place (I’ve always enjoyed it), but I’ll suggest the financial Aid idea to neighbors who have housekeepers.

I'm not terrible concerned about the ability of the chain restaurants to weather this storm BUT I am concerned about the individually owed restaurants. Purchasing take-out from them is one way to help keep them going and you might even consider adding a little something extra to the bill. Also please remember to tip the guy or the gal that delivers the food to you at their door or in your car.
