For all the secret and not so secret royalists out there, whether by conviction or nostalgia -- and there are probably more than a couple -- when I called this up just now it had the Queen's 1957 Christmas message, the first broadcast on television. 50 years ago! And she still endorses virtue. Merry Christmas!

 

And for those who may wonder, I'm an American, proud of our republic, not anxious that we are citizens and not subjects. But she stands for goodness in many forms. Bless her.
