Modern Dance- Best Costume Award!

Although it's usually plays and musicals that get my attention, I did learn to like dance after visits to the New York City Ballet and the American Ballet Theater. The Joyce Theater in Chelsea introduced me to Ballet Hispanico, Dance Brazil, and other modern dance companies. One of my favorite pieces was called Birdbrain, performed by an Australian Dance Company in LaJolla, CA.

 

But dance costumes must be awfully expensive in Japan, if this photo from the New York Times today is any indication, as the Japan Society learned how to cut costs in Tiger's Cave: Butoh Boot Camp. They do get my award for best costumes, though:
