Kaye Ballard frequently went bike riding with Lucy in Ranch Mirage. She remembered a large, very agitated, dog running toward Lucy.

 

Lucy yelled at the dog, "Get the fu*k away!"

 

Of course, the dog ran away.

 

Kaye to Lucy: "wow, even dogs know you are the queen of comedy and the world."

The New Times writer apparently believes Lucy couldn't sing during her 1960 Broadway musical, "Wildcat."

 

The "Wildcat" original cast album proves him wrong. Lucille Ball was terrible in the movie "Mame," but not a decade earlier.

I didn't make it far enough in Lucy's "Mame" to hear her sing, but I much prefer Rosalind Russell's Mame.
