Help with Manhattan, NY decision

Thanks for all the advice and recommendations so far, and still hoping for more input whenever you guys have a chance.

 

I was going to figure out budget based on the advice you guys give of what to expect. So I get from all this a lot more clearly how much the language is different from place to place.
