Is it rugby or soccer? I never did know the differance, if in fact there is one.

Not sure if you were serious or not---so I'll bite and tell you that the photo is definitely rugby players. Soccer--football to the rest of the world---involves kicking a round ball---rugby involves carrying a football shaped ball and much more physical contact, like US football, but with very little protective equipment, You can pass the ball in rugby with your hands, unlike soccer/football where the only person who touch the ball with his hands is the goalkeeper. I guess rugby has more in common with US football than it has with US soccer, world football.

Thank you. I was very serious. Not being a big ball player fan, I really did not know the differance. But I do appreciate any sport where the players wear such short shorts and endure the chances of getting them ripped right off their bodies.

Soccer uniforms tend to be a bit billowy while the rugby pants and shirts are a bit tighter and more form fitting. American football has the tightest pants of all. Rugby and soccer give the opportunity to view the hard muscular legs of the combatants unobstructed by clothing, in American football, long pants. As for man on man contact, soccer has the least and rugby moreso unprotected and football the most but with padding.

 

For the gay non-sports fan, that may be all you really need to known about these sports.

I guess I like soccer more as that is the one where you see outtakes of guys getting their shorts yanked down and their dangly bits on display for the world to see.

I have almost no knowledge of rugby rules. In the U.S., squeezing someone's crotch during a football match would be considered a personal foul and subject to heavy penalties. Is there such a thing as a personal foul in rugby?
