First time it happened. So strange. He reached out to me based on my profile, we picked a time, he said he was on his way... and then nothing. No arrival. No message. I texted a few times. No response.

 

I expect that from non-pros. One of the reasons I use a pro is to avoid that. Yet, boom, same shit. Is it really too much to say "Something has come up and we need to reschedule?"

 

Minor venting. I'm an adult. It's a minor bit of silliness. Over the years, this has happened with tricks and dates.... just never with a pro.

There are scores of reasons why this could happen. I will agree that it is odd for a professional to not pay you the courtesy of reaching out if they can no longer make the appointment. That means they are effectively burning the bridge they just built. Sad, but it happens. Take a deep breath, shrug on the exhale and move on. (By the way, if there is a thread here on the forum about the provider - be sure to search for it an leave a comment about this behavior - you will save someone else the experience!) ?

Even in this competitive market some escorts don't show up... sad but true. It also happens a lot to escorts, flaky clients are more common now a days.

 

Btw I'm surprised this never happened to you before on Grindr. I know for a fact no shows happen with hookups too, folks don't have the courtesy to text and come up with a silly excuse like "my roommate lost his key".

Ha. That’s the crazy part. It wasn’t Grindr. I have a few words on my Rent Men profile. I’ve met some great pros because of that and avoided a few who agreed we weren’t an actual match.

M4R had a way to tag an escort as a no show for others to be warned. There have been many threads on here about compulsive No-Shows like Ryan Rose.

I have found this happening more and more over the past year. Latest one was last week (DominusIII) who was visiting from NYC. Made an appointment, confirmed an hour before, and he said he was having hotel issues. Not sure why he wouldn't reach out to me to say he was no longer available.

I guess that’s the thing: just saying something came up and they are no longer available... and that holds for clients, too. It just seems like good form to say “Hey, I need to reschedule.”

Yep, just shrug it off. In Seattle there are several providers who never respond to texts. Rather than worrying about WHY they would spend the money to run an ad and then not respond, simply move on.

I had a no show once who was a visitor, I booked a 1 hour appt and I am convinced he got a better offer (> 1 hour). As a visitor, he's not necessarily interested in repeat business I assume.
