Today's review of Andre Barclay

This seems like a perfect example of a review and response which require careful reading. The client (not a first time reviewer) was obviously unhappy with the experience, yet he seems to be trying hard to be objective and fair, saying many positive things about the escort. The escort is unhappy and angry about the review. What did each do wrong?

 

First, the reviewer rated the escort as "Unsatisfactory", when what he really meant was that he was disappointed with the experience; it would have been better to say "Satisfactory", and let the qualifications in the review speak for themselves. He probably should also have let the escort know after the appt. that he was disappointed about the lack of leather, and that overall the experience was no better than OK and would not bring a rave review. He could have left out the slightly catty comment about the escort not being "buff" (his website pictures--which the reviewer says are accurate--allow the reader to judge that; he looks delectable to me).

 

The escort, on the other hand, seems to focus entirely on the comments about being "buff", and ignores the substantive claims about what the client expected and what actually happened during the appt. He distorts the reviewer's comments about his appearance, and then accuses the reviewer of inconsistency. He would have made a better impression by explaining about the leather and the sex, or simply going with his much better second paragraph, in which he seems more in control of his emotions, and let the whole thing go.

 

For the record, I don't know the reviewer or the escort, and have no way of knowing what happened beyond what each of them has said here. But it is reviews and responses like this one that make this site so interesting to me.
