I'm planning a trip to Paris and then take the train to Amsterdam for 3 weeks. I am looking for hotels in both cities. I stayed at Axel Hotels in Barcelona and Madrid and was very pleased. Does anyone have a place to recommend? I like nice places with all amenities such as hi speed wifi...flat screen tv...good linens...

and a very safe area convenient for walking.

I tried Air BnB and am not looking to clean someone's apartment... or walk up 5 flights...

Thanks!

Good luck. Paris and Amsterdam hotel prices are multiples of Madrid or Barcelona for lower quality. 3 weeks in Amsterdam will be enormous. The pickings aren't too great for escorts either.

I can recommend Jules & Jim in the heart of Le Marais. Very quaint and chic boutique hotel with a courtyard. Exceptionally clean, quality toiletries (Molton Brown). If you are solo the Double Room (Hi Macs) will do you just fine. The room is not huge, but nor is any hotel room in Paris. It’s central and walking distance from everything. Centre Pompidou, Republique, etc.

Another option is 1K hotel in Republique, which has huge rooms per Paris standards. Customizable lighting, big bathroom. Can get a bit loud if you have a room off the street, but quiet if further back into the property. There is a restaurant on site.

Amsterdam hotels never struck me as charming. They are small and I’ve always had an issue of some sort, although minor. Most recently I stayed at The Grand downtown. The room lacked personality but it was fine as I spent most of my days out.

Amsterdam is definitely a city to Airbnb in. You are not required to clean everyone’s apt per your comment. That is why some of them have a cheap cleaning fee so you can just stay & go and Airbnb offers charming properties in the area. The hotels aren’t the best. Utilize Hotel Tonight or Hotels.com.

Amsterdams catalogue is not huge, but Paris offers more of a selection. However..taste vary per individual. Maybe let him decide and not put a damper on his trip before he even gets there? lol
