Fortunately, whether you win or not doesn't matter anymore. Last year Taylor won and his album tanked - Chris Daughtry made it only to the final four and his album blew Taylor's away.

 

So although Melinda goes home, she'll still have a career.

I am surprised and disappointed with this result. I don't know why but I keep thinking that some day style will not win out over substance but I guess that day isn't today. It seems a foregone conclusion that Jordan will now win. It just seems that as a third place finisher, Melinda will not get the kind of support and material that she would have gotten as a winner. As a result, it may make it harder for her to have solid success. On a up note, at least she will not have to sing whichever treacly anthem they dredge up for the winner to release immediately after the finale.

I was in utter shock when I saw her being bumped.

 

Then I started to think - - - America doesn't know how to pick a fuckin President, so why should I expect them to be able to pick an American Idol?

 

On a different note - I wish someone would tell Simon not to looks so bloody bored. Bored he may be but as he claims he makes 30 million a year from the show, he should at least have the smarts to look like he's with it.

You need both! And Melinda Doolittle has no style. She can sing but her entire package is extremely difficult to market. She has no neck, has a really big face and she's too old. If the show is rigged, the producers made the right choice.

 

Blake is the most inventive, creative male singer the show has seen to date. And Jordin is a record exec's dream come true. She will sound great in the studio. This season, I think they got it right (whoever they is). The top five deserved to be there and the final show will be a fair fight to the finish.

Puhhleeeeeeeeze! She's a Streisand queen. Every Streisand queen knows that American Idol is the new Bon Soir.

Anyone who thinks that American Idol lacks credibility is a FOOL. Yes, with capital letters. Like it or not, American Idol is behemoth, and all record companies are lining up to sign their favorite contestant. American Idol is now the leading recruitment farm for new talent.

 

Kelly Clarkson may be wallowing in Grammy bliss but it sure is hard to stomach some of the other singers who have garnered recording contracts. Watching Elliot Yamin, with new teeth that looked as fake as Pamela Anderson's tits and hair borrowed from an episode of Shear Genius, was like watching zipperzone on the receiving end of an enema performed by Rick Hammersmith. It's an awful site that leaves you scratching your head (and balls) but you can't take your eyes off the horror of it all. :o

 

Oh well. That's show biz.
