RE: Besa Me Mucho

It never ceases to amaze me that Jackson can't construct one complete English sentence and his use of the word "dawg" is the iceing on the cake. But who am I to say.......... he's worth mega millions and I'm not.

I am NOT a Sanjaya fan but I thought he did quite well tonight. And although he is not my type sexually, I thought his "look" was kinda sexy..... go figure

"I think that we can't get his appeal because we aren't girls below the age of 16"

Some of us do get his appeal and this season wouldn't be nearly as much fun without him. Let's just hope he's not doing a Mario Vazquez and offering blowjobs to Fox employees in the stalls of their public bathrooms.

I believe the last several seasons offered an obvious wild card in John Stevens and Kevin Covais. Somewhere along the line a casting decision was made and it seems to have worked in the show's favor.

His stage presence is no worse than duck-footed Clay Aiken's and I'll bet, once you get him in a recording studio, Sanjaya is capable of a number one pop hit. No wonder Jennifer Lopez likes him. I never thought she could sing.

Sanjaya has a very clean tone, a decent range, and a little more power than Diana Ross. Plus, he has absolutely, drop-dead gorgeous eyes. I predict we will see an album from him and it WILL sell. I look forward to seeing him in five years. Maybe Janet Jackson will have taught him how to move by then.

I can't imagine being 17 and putting myself in his shoes. This boy has more courage and bigger balls than most of the old-turkey gay guys on this site. He's not my favorite but I'm glad he's there.

Last night was the first time I've ever watched this show through the entire hour.

I loved how they saved their biggest draw for last.

What I had to comment on was that, IMHO, the three other males aren't that spectacular either, in fact they are quite un-spectacular. Sanjaya got singled out early because of his

feminine looks (and hair). The producers are lucky to have him and "the controversy", otherwise the ratings would be sinking fast.

I just can't get over the "Chris Richardson is so much better a vocalist that Sanjaya...." Like I read from a critic when Madonna and Cyndi Lauper were new and all the rage and folks were arguing who was better: "It's like comparing Minnie Mouse to Betty Boop".

The Hindi Hottie slides through again. Vote Early and Vote Often!

"Slides through" is right. Untouched, in fact. The damn "Sanjaya Show". Will this be the last season of "Idol" as we know it now?

Love that Ryan Seachrest. "These is the bottom two" or something like that. I remember on the grand finale show, first season, Ryan told the nationwide audience "things here are exciting and getting excitinger". And, yet, they fired the OTHER guy!

I would think the chances of Sanjaya having an album is quite good. I think he will probably do well next week too.

On another note, the sound mix has been much better this week and last week. To me the sound mix this week was the best since they went into the larger building.

TO be quite honest, I think its humorous that the American people can vote for someone like sajaya, for the sole purpose of defying the television sensation, American Idol. More people vote for this show than those who vote for presedential elections and i find it humorous that rather than supporting a presidential candidate and standing up for a cause such as that, the American people would rather ban together to vote for Sanjaya. I dunno if that made sense but I just find it humorous, I like it and im glad the people are doing it, bc i think by allowing the "people" to be the ultimate decision in the way a television show is run, is stupid but hey its worked thus far. Thats my rant. Enjoy your day ;).

I'll give you a C-. Your points are interesting but you certainly could have expressed yourself better.

My understanding of the facts: "the sole purpose of defying the television sensation, American Idol" is a myth. Fox executives have stated publicly that the "vote-for-the-worst=Sanjaya" movement is miniscule when put up against the behemoth call tally and, therefore, has absolutely NO EFFECT on whether he stays or goes. Personally, I'd like to see those numbers but I don't think that will happen.

Rumor has it that his unrestrained emotional display when his sister lost captured American hearts. And, apparently, he's stayed there. Given how he has charmingly handled the high-volume venom and scrutiny, he succeeds in keeping America in his pocket. It wouldn't surprise me if he makes Top 4.

It is sad that many Americans don't care about politics and don't vote. I also find it sad that most Americans will do whatever it takes to get out of jury duty, never imagining themselves on trial and/or in need of a smart, fair peer group.

Lazy people often have lazy minds. Maybe hope will come with genetic research.

Gee, ya don't think the Fox executives might have a vested interest in maintaining that the sanctity of their voting mechanism has not been affected...do ya?

I just watched a rerun or wahatever it is of the whole group singing Bailamos !!! I have never seen such a steretypic display of a group of white (I know they are not all white but you get my meaning) people trying and failing to sing a Latin song. They were dispassionate, barely moved and the Black girls sang a Latino song with soul instead of fire. they fucken sucked but I had fun watching it ; individually they were good though

"Gee, ya don't think the Fox executives might have a vested interest in maintaining that the sanctity of their voting mechanism has not been affected...do ya?"

Even though this tiny, intelligent fact could have been offered without all the tude, I did mention that "I'd like to see those numbers." If Fox were my client, I'd advise them to lie, if necessary.

However, I don't think it is necessary to lie if one can believe that Idol receives 30 million+ votes. If Fox were lying about the numbers, especially when another phone-Corp is involved, there could be legal issues at stake. Even if the vote-the-worst vote is one million, which I hear it isn't anywhere near and can't be accurately calculated, the end result can't be skewed. I'm sure some mathematician can explain how this works but I've never been good at numbers.

When the contestants sing as a group, we change the channel or hit mute. There's only so much pain an audience should be forced to endure.

Usually that would be a good point, Soccer. And I'm always gung ho for getting people to vote in government elections. However, keep in mind that people can vote for their favorite idol as many times as they want in the given time period. Those aren't individual votes. It is people voting 10, 20, or more times. I always think of that fact when I hear or see the above statement.

I don't find it humorous at all personally. I find it very sad. Of course I do understand that a good portion of those voting are pimpled face 13 yr old girls.

Not bad? I'd rather listen to two cats making sweet love while getting hosed down with battery acid! I wasn't expecting much though since singing in another language can be hard especially if it is not your native language or you haven't spoken it for very long. Now if people would quit voting for him! GRRRRR!!!! Front of house vocals? No! Backstage with his mic turned down a bit? I could tolerate.

Greg

Well its over now. Sanjaya has been voted off. I missed the kid. He grew on me. I'm sure that either Melinda or Haley Sparks will win, but I'll missed the quirkiness that Sanjaya's performances brought to the show. At least my TUesday and Wednesday nights are now freed up.

For those who wonder whats next for little Sanjaya, check this out:

Sanjaya is a much better singer than Donny Osmond, David Cassidy of the Partridge Family, Davy Jones of the Monkees and Chad and Jeremy when they were his age. I wonder if folks here of that genre who enjoyed their music forgot their past.

I disagree; both Donny and David had a greater range and more power. But I just watched some youtube clips and I like Sanjaya. He's got a great personality and a soulful voice; I think he just suffered from bad song choices. He should be doing gospel or R&B. Check out this clip of him singing "Swing Low Sweet Chariot" from before his American Idol days:

Thanks for the link, Rick. A nice performance. Sanjaya is going to have a much bigger career after Idol than he wouuld have had he not done the show. He is the only one of the group who was not bland. Would that more contestants took the chances he did. And, at 17, he has a long career ahead of him. I'll bet he gets some endorsement soon as well.

Plus, he is going to the White House Correspondent's dinner as a guest of People magazine.

God I hope that he doesn't end up in a photo op with Bush. That would just kill it for me.

What a total waste of time and effort that will be!

The kid has guts - I can't imagine anyone there will give him a second glance. It's almost as if People magazine is being deliberately cruel looking for a story.

Are you kidding me? Do you realize the number of press that attend the Correspondent's dinner? And many of these correspondents are the top in their field. He is a non-political person in the news at an event by many political correspondents - that will make him stick out to them and they will want to meet him. That is why People magazine (and others) try to pick interesting people to attend as their gusts. Of course at this event, he will likely be brought into the many jokes that make up this event. Many great publicity opportunities. A smart PR move.
