I don't usually pay attention to this stuff ("Anna Nicole who?") but I thought this was sad, especially how the paparazzi just watch and take pictures of someone who's obviously disturbed.

Britney's latest stunt, as I'm sure you all know, is the total shaving of all the hair on her head.

 

Makes perfect sense to me.

Fears for Spears, says Web site posting

NEW YORK - An e-mail from

Britney Spears' former assistant Felicia Culotta saying the 25-year-old pop star needs to get her act together because she's headed for "rock bottom" has been posted on a Web site's gossip blog.

 

 

"I cherish ALL the incredible opportunities that came my way thru my job with Britney and am crushed/saddened/heart sick by the way her life is unfolding," says the e-mail, posted this week on ThatOtherBlog, a gossip blog on the Hollywood.com Web site.

 

The e-mail, addressed to "Ruben," was sent in response to an editorial "Why Britney Is Asking for It," according to the blog.

 

"I want you to know Ruben that WE (as in her Family and nearest and dearest — ALL of whom are not on the payroll anymore!!) are doing EVERYTHING in our power to get help for Britney," writes Culotta, who says she worked for Spears for nearly 10 years.

 

Since filing for divorce from Kevin Federline in November, Spears has drawn criticism for her drinking, partying and sloppy appearance.

 

"Ruben," who runs ThatOtherBlog, told The Associated Press on Friday that Culotta is a good friend and that he is declining media requests to interview her. In her e-mail, Culotta said she is working as a corporate flight attendant and living in Mississippi.

 

Gina Orr, Spears' publicist at Jive Records, couldn't be reached at her office Friday and didn't immediately respond to an e-mail from the AP asking for comment.

 

"There's just so much you can do to help a person — I don't dare want to be an enabler, and I cannot love her enough for the both of us," Culotta says.

 

"I cannot convince her in ANY way to love herself. ... I cannot save her from herself, nor can I commit her to any type of treatment program against her wishes and will."

 

Culotta says Spears' friends are doing "all in our power to NOT pad the bottom or move the bottom, so when she does indeed hit rock bottom, she'll stand up and walk away from this whole fiasco a new, confident, changed, career driven Britney like we all knew and loved."

I agree that the media focuses on the unimportant but I don't think this is just about hair. I think we're watching someone who's emotionally disturbed...maybe going through post-natal depression or a drug problem. It's creepy, but we're a voyeuristic society that loves train wrecks.

Considering the source of this statement...(thank you for the chuckle). I guess every bald lesbo on Fire Island falls into the same "disturbed" category. Or is a bald pate off-limits for a straight gal these days?

I applaud the pop-bitch for not holding back. When you need a new look, sometimes you have to go all the way. (Can I get an amen!) Of course, many media outlets published the least attractive (profile) photo. There were several shots where I thought she looked "hot." (Thank you, Paris.)

 

Sources tell me her hair was a mess, broken and beaten by show business. Truthfully, this happens a lot with female artists, especially the girls who rely on extensions. Eventually, extensions will kill what hair is left. (I had them once.) Towards the end of "Friends," Jennifer Aniston complained bitterly about the condition of her hair.

 

I'm told dead, broken hair can't be revived. The only cure is to cut it off and start all over again. (That's what I did.) Celine Dion made a similar decision when she started Vegas. Thank God she didn't cut it all off. You really have to be somewhat "pretty" to pull the bald look off and my dearest Celine wasn't pretty enough for the short hair she settled on. (The bleach didn't work, either.) Thank goodness she got her drag look back.

 

Britney's a middle-class young babe with a ton of money. Some people expect too much of her. The pressure is on.

A source for the 25-year-old singer claimed she shaved her head because of lice: "She thought lice were eating her hair extensions, so decided to get rid of them as soon as possible."
