I agree with AdamSmith on this one. One should probably not hire for an overnight without first having spent some time with the guy. When I first starting hiring I followed that rule without exception but now that I've been hiring for several years I make exceptions. In fact I am just about to spend a weekend with an escort I have never met. Now we have communicated on and off for a couple of years about getting together if I ever visited to his city in Euorpe or he visited mine in Southern California. Upon picking him up at the airport I will most likely give him an envelope with his fee once we get into my car and hit the road for Santa Barbara.

You know zipperzone you are probably correct. But this is the pattern I have followed for several years, that is paying up front. I know it is risky but I haven't been burned thus far so will probably continue until I am. Let me add that I don't hire guys without proven track including multiple positive reviews.

The guy I'm hiring for the weekend will be visiing from Europe, has multiple positive reviews, and comes with an extremely positive recommendation from a friend. I have exchanged multiple telephone calls and emails with him and feel totally comfortable with the situation. I honestly can't imagine him ripping me off; IT JUST ISN'T HIS STYLE. The guy is total CLASS.

I am an atypical client in that I don't hire for an hour or two. Never. It has just never appealed to me.

 

I have done several engagements of a few days or longer. I've had the companionship of a couple well-known, well-reviewed guys. I also enjoy hiring relatively new, less well-known guys. Fortunately all of my experiences to date have been good ones, knock on wood. Ironically enough, the one bad experience I had was a couple years ago when I hired a guy from an agency- and he never showed up.

 

Most who have contributed to this thread strongly recommend meeting and spending time with an escort before making a decision to hire him for a longer engagement. While certainly sensible, in my case this advice isn't all that practical, as I don't care to do hourlies (or even overnights). Moreover oftentimes the guys who interest me live quite a distance away, and I don't care for the considerable extra expense of arranging a brief "introductory meeting."
