Thursday (tomorrow) TCM is airing several of her movies. She was the mistress of William Randolph Hearst. I don't like his politics but love his "Castle".

I read once (in some old time star's biography) that either Hedda Hopper or Louella Parsons, whichever one was in Hearst's pocket, always referred to her as 'the lovely Marion Davies'.

@Avalon I know little about Parsons except Hearst. But, some celebrated people actually liked Hedda Hopper.

 

For better or worse, people like Parsons and Hopper no longer cover Hollywood.

Hedda was a failed actress. They both has their favorites. Hedda seems liked the more right wing, even though she did call John Wayne a “Pinko” while Louella favored the left wing of Hollywood. Her last husband was the studio doctor at Fox. His was urology that specialized in STD. His duty’s at included being th studio pill pusher and abortionist. He knew a lot of secrets.

William Hopper was the son of Hedda. He played Paul Drake on "Perry Mason".

Given that answer why would she lie about Hedda and her son?
