Craig's List in LA seemes to be going through some changes. Used to be working boys would post on the M4M section. Their ads kept getting flagged in the flagging wars. Then they set up a 'm4m' in the Erotic section. Never saw a sadder mix of fakes and druggies posting before. NOW guys are asking for and attempting Reviews of the guys in this section. Even the reviews seem fake. Enter at your own risk is all I got to say.

Just makes me appreciate this site and Daddy's efforts even more.

Not sure I'd go that far.

It takes some care and some attentiveness, but I've had some pretty good romps with guys from craigslist.

Sure, you have to be careful. Just recently a guy in LA was using pictures of Benjamin Nicholas. That email exchange was kinda fun. He didn't get that I'd spotted the fake until I called him on sending a pic of Juan/Vancouver in a follow-up message. Girl got bitchy on me! Claimed those pics were HIS and how could I POSSIBLY know they weren't?!?!?!?

I explained.

But I've had some pretty great get-togethers. Including a few that became regulars who never asked for anything more than the $80/hr they originally posted (and received GREAT tips).

It's not a complete waste, but it's definitely a venue where you need your wits about you.

deej, thank you for keeping up some hope. But could you please tell me what protocols you use to screen / meet CL listers?

Most of the folks I send a e-mail to never respond. Those that do want MY stats and picture. (Mind you, this is under 'erotic services', not just 'regular' m4m)

Be very, very selective. :-)

If he asks for a pic, cross him off the list.

If he sends more than one pic and they don't look like the same guy, cross him off the list.

If he sounds too good to be true, he probably is. Cross him off the list.

Tune your bullshit meter. At the SLIGHTEST ping, cross him off the list.

It also helps to stay away from "new" listings. A lot of times they'll be the same old flakes repackaging themselves. If you see the same guy with the same pics consistently over time, he's more likely to actually be what he says he is. (particularly if he rotates pics and they're obviously all the same guy.)

At least that's how it has worked for me.

And don't forget they're often wary of strangers being law enforcement. A little caution on their side is warranted. But overboard paranoia, well, cross him off the list. (And keep your own paranoia under control, too.)

Nothing will ever be 100%. (Indeed, the very reason this site exists!)

Making Craig's List work for you

I have had pretty good success finding masseurs from the list, but as Deej cautions, you have to be very intent on what to look for and what to red flag. I have reviewed one of the masseurs from Craig's on this site.

Someone has taken to rating the masseurs in the erotic section and that has helped somewhat. Since I have found their experience to mirror mine, I tend to trust their opinions on others.

I have also had very good success hooking up with guys from Craig's for dates and liaisons (thanks in large part to JamesK's encouragement and advice). These take a little more effort , but I have made some good friends and some good FB's. Because of this, now I only occasionally hire masseurs for the most part. The rest of my sexual encounters are dates.
