Gay Hawaiian Cruise in April

Decided to take the plunge and go my first cruise. A group of us chose the Atlantis cruise which goes around Hawaiian islands in April.

Has anyone else been on this (or similar) cruise? Any suggestions on what side trips are worth it and which to avoid? I've heard the trips are fairly expensive ($100/person) and it might be more economical to rent a car while in port and see the sights yourself. Any opinions on that?

 

Have also heard the many cruises offer a one-price drink option. Is that worth it? I've also been told that service in the restaurants is often lacking and the buffet is probably the best way to eat. True?

 

Also curious if any other Hoovillians will be going or perhaps a working guy or two?? }(

When the bf and I did the Atlantis Caribbean cruise, we were quite happy with it. A very special sense of fun was afloat, and there were cute guys for miles. There were good shows and interesting ports, yet the costs were something else. First of all, there are no cruise discounts with Atlantis since they sell out. The ship offered good restaurants, but you had to pay a premium for the better ones. They pushed alcohol like lollipops in a kindergarten, and the drinks were expensive. The port trips were usually way over-priced. But with so many cute guys, you didn't think much about the costs!

Thanks for the info. Sounds like I'll have a good time. Hope others from Hooville that are going will post. Would be fun to share an expensive drink with them. ;-)
