In a sense it is unfair how the movie floats along at the beginning, that we should accept the subject matter is worthy. And then suddenly, it is. Very worthy and inciteful. Food for thought, as a good documentary might want to be.

I remember this as a great human interest story in the NYC area when it first happened. Wonder if they are close now.

The DVD included director commentary as well as a screening Q&A, so a lot of questions are answered. Don't want to spoil anything, but the movie may have added interest for folks from the NYC area.

Three Identical Strangers is on CNN tonight. Here on the West Coast starting at 6pm. Without spilling anything I recommend hanging in there to get to the meat of the story.

 

Where it starts seems light stuff, but it isn't.

I watch this through CNN on demand, I think it's available until Feb 24. I'm glad I took the advice to just watch without knowing anything about it first.

@E.T.Bass - thank you for posting about this movie. I was able to capture it on DVR, and I watched it tonight. I'm still processing it, and will probably wake up tomorrow morning thinking about the story. I may have to get the DVD because I'd like to hear the additional content.
