i think you have a point marylander1940...many of the smaller cities have a limited understanding about the value of our time and the expenses of our travels. It feels like the clients in bigger cities have a clear understanding about how NOT to waste other peoples time... BUT the worst city i have found for time wasters is ATLANTA georgia. but with people moving about from state to state in todays economy, things do change quickly and so there are no rules set in stone. i would love to give atlanta a big "enema" tho.

 

Have you ever tried Boston or Dallas? Folks on here got so tired about the flakiness that the phrase "Dallas mafia" was coined.

i love dallas (one of my favorites)...boston, meh... i went once... had good results with clients... (mostly all asian students unexpectedly) but that was fine by me. Atlanta is my worst for a big city. very inconsiderate bunch. i never been to a place so FAKE as atlanta's "southern hospitality" but in retrospect im sure even that will change eventually as new people from other places move into atlanta. i don't care for miami much either. one of the rudest places i have ever been to. & everything is waaaay overpriced. But i am one of those people that has a short memory on things like that unitl i return a second or third time...then i suddenly remember why i promised myself i would never return. when it's too late !! lol I kinda just enjoy traveling and as long as i can cover my expenses for the trip then i am good. I am definitely looking forward to exploring montreal and toronto in 2019 . never been to canada and craving to check it out !! BUT TEXAS is my favorite state i think cuz the guys are super cool with me there. i feel loved <3

I lived in Oklahoma City when I started in 2016, up until October. It was fine to learn the ropes, especially since there isn’t much competition. And although it’s expensive to fly out of, its most redeeming quality was that it’s the literal center of the country (the north/south and east/west central interstates cross in OKC) so drive 3-4 hours in any direction and you’re in another big city of size. Dallas, houston, austin, San Antonio, Kansas City, Tulsa, St. Louis, Little Rock, Memphis, and even Denver are all driving distance from OKC.

 

All that said, now that I’m in Atlanta, I don’t plan on returning to work in OKC.

Dallas is an odd dichotomy of a City. when i lived 3 hours north, it was the city I traveled to most frequently. It is simultaneously my most successful city and the city that can give the most headache.

 

The mafia is so real there that I’ve had entire days of trips be no-shows (luckily I’ve been able to reschedule them all) and my first trip ever was...interesting.

 

All that said it was the city I came of age in so I can’t not love it.

 

A city I’m not sure I’ll return to would be LA. Not that anyone there is overly flakey. It’s that there are 400-700 escorts there. Someone could try someone new every day and not cycle through for 1-2 years. There seems to be so much competition there it seems difficult to stand out.

 

That’s just been my experience, though others may have other experiences.

The traffic makes Atlantans rude...and the city stopped being southern about 35 years ago. Now, it’s just A city that’s located in the south

 

It also stopped being as racist, xenophobic and homophobic as before, and that's a good thing, isn't it? Hard to believe Atlanta was competing with Birmingham (Bombingham) for supremacy in the South just a few decades ago.

 

Young folks with a degree, sexually active, with their lives together, minding their own business and not judging others are moving to Atlanta escaping from other parts of the South.

 

Now when folks say "bless his/your heart" they mean it and they're not stabbing someone in the back...

 

Metro brought young, gay, immigrants, computer nerds to Northern Va and that's also a good thing.

 

Atlanta needs more folks getting their asses off their cars and into Marta despite its racial nickname. I know someone who visited recently and folks called him crazy because of walking from Midtown to Downtown... More Marta would be nice too.
