Howdy viewers,

I wanted to post my recommendations for online shopping. If anyone has other websites to add, please do :0)

http://www.sirius.com/

Those who haven't considered satellite radio, check out Sirius. They have a fun, informative(and sometimes nasty:0) gay channel, comedy stations, every conceivable style of music has its own station, news channels and anything from Martha Stewart to NASCAR...all for $12.95/mo. And, you can subscribe through the internet and listen from your computer. Sirius is available in the US and Canada.

Men's fragrance is too strong for me. I discovered MB's shower gels five years ago and have been a loyal customer since.

Recharge Black Pepper(clean-n-spicy) and Warm Eucalyptus(excellent morning wake up shower) are my favorites. My other half loves the Molton Brown Palm Bar especially in the winter when showers are super hot. They have other products too. Recharge Black Pepper candle rocks! I gave one a couple of years ago.

Online shoppers get free bottle offers directly from their site or you can buy their stuff at Neiman Marcus or the redesigned flagship stores of Bath and Body Works.

http://www.fresh.com/

The other personal grooming company I use frequently. My lesbians and I like the Tobacco Flower soap, Soda Shampoo and Pomegranate conditioner. Products are smooth and aren't heavy or overpowering.

Also available at Sephora and their own stores(I know Vegas has one)

Since I joined a gym and got a trainer, I've limited the sugar and fat BUT if I could go crazy and cheat:

http://www.christiecookies.com/

You order 'em. They bake 'em then ship 'em.

Nashville's kick-ass cookie and brownie company. I think they still supply some Doubletree hotels too. A Music City staple for years.

http://www.southerncandymakers.com/

My favorite food shop in New Orleans. Absolute lightest, nuttiest, creamiest, fucking-best pecan turtles(called tortues) you can find. The sisters(I have two and my partner has one) are getting bark and brittle too. Not sure if they can ship the caramel apples but ask. If not, go for the chocolate-covered cherries. Everything from this store is great! It's all made on the premises.

http://www.cakeinajar.com/

The pride of Macon, Ga with their weird and delicious little cakes baked in glass jars...just country cookin'

I've thrown in sounds, smells and tastes. If anyone else has suggestions for online products, I'm always interested in discovering.

Enjoy,

John

I have a love/hate relationship with Sirius.

I bought into it hoping to have decent music in the office (because FM reception sucks out loud) but it wasn't until I'd bought all the equipment and paid for the service that they told me I needed a window facing north/east.

As luck would have it, I do have a window facing north/east.

Still doesn't work (because of the mountain, I'll bet). I get half-assed reception maybe an hour a day and the rest of the day the thing says "searching for signal".

Web to the rescue! They had a streaming internet feed for subscribers!

Then they rolled out a new internet-only offering and crippled the web-based offering for existing subscribers. Timeouts every 90 minutes without warning are the normal mode of operation.

I have the equipment to install the thing in my car but I can't see why I should do that. They don't tell you until you've bought/opened it that you need to put the antenna on the roof. I drive a convertible.

Sirius gives great promises, but delivery falls a little short.

I'm an XM-guy myself. It came with my car and i was hooked in the first week on programming. Good stuff.

In researching the company, they also have superior compression technology, resulting in better sound. I tried going with an at-home reciever at one point, but also ended up getting the dreaded 'searching for signal' error. Argh.

I'm looking at the new Pontiac Solstice GXP, so it may happen that a Sirius lineup is in my future. Any channels to recommend?

"Sirius gives great promises, but delivery falls a little short."

Is this escort new or has he been around for awhile? :-) (Now I sound like Rick Munroe.)

You all can keep the radio stuff. I'm too particular about my music so I make my own Mp3 playlists. I've always been a wannabe disc-jockey so I love the play.

Molton Brown does nothing for me. I don't get the hype. I also don't like men smelling like anything other than men. I can understand an oil or moisturizer for dry skin and an alkaline-free soap for bath but I think all that perfumie-stuff is for girlie-men. If it doesn't smell like flowers on steroids, it smells like insect repellant. Give me good old, worked-out BO anyday, unless you ARE a woman.

Fresh's prices are insane. It's scented water for goodness sakes. Can't help but think their roster of customers are nothing but a bunch of overly scented suckers.

My favorite shopping haunts are too long to list but any escort who wishes to sit, I mean, put a smile on my face can give me anything from these two spots:

http://www.tazzadorocoffeeshop.com/

http://www.santeustachioilcaffe.it/

In my world, you're not considered chic unless you have beans in your freezer from one of these two famous places.

Happy shopping! You ho, ho, ho'ers.

You can get all sorts of free radio over the internet if you are listening at the office. I listen online all day at work. Usually BBC6 (an eclectic mix focused mainly on newer Britpop but also lots of 60s-90s rock) for about half of the day and then I listen to the "modern rock" station from Bangkok called FAT radio the rest of the day.

If you are looking for classical I'm sure there are lots of choices there online. You'll just need to look a around a little. You might like BBC3 http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/index.shtml which is described as "Classical, Jazz, World, Arts, Drama"

Thanks. Last time I looked around (it's been a while) there weren't that many. We actually have a local all-classical commercial station that has a web feed, but they black out 10 minutes of every hour.

At this point, though, I'm invested. ;-) At some point you have to give up and admit you've put ENOUGH effort into something.

"Have you ever in your life heard such pretentious bullshit?"

You're so sour and no fun, zippermouth. Apparently, you've never had lunch with Cindy Adams.

Actually, I can't take credit for the chic-freezer line. At least two well-known travel writers have written versions before and I simply paraphrased. And, frankly, there's no pretense at all. What I wrote is actually quite true and no exaggeration. Many New Yorkers, especially gay ones, take their coffee seriously. And, if you invite one into your home, one must be prepared for a freezer-peak.

It's obvious, zippermouth, you ain't chic.

I'm a classical music lover. In South Florida, we don't have a single commercial classical station. Actually, there are only about 30 remaining in the US, and that doesn't mean 30 different states.

One of the top classical music stations in the country is at:

http://www.king.org

It's a 24-hour Seattle station that also broadcasts over the Net. The audio streaming is very reliable. You can look at the program schedule and see what the station will be playing at a specific time on a specific day. (Note: The listings are in PST.) Great web site!

The station plays a wide variety of classical music, including better known and lesser known composers. The station is on a par, if not better, than WCRB Boston, which I miss very much.

If your definition of chic is having frozen coffee beans in your freezer - I feel you're beyond help. Do you also keep your latest underwear finds in the freezer too, so you will feel "cool" when you go out?

But please don't stop with your ever-so-witty....NOT little replies.

They tend to confirm what most people already know - YOU'RE AN IDIOT.

RE: Zipperzone is terribly un-chic

It's very well known that freezing fresh coffee beans is the best way to have your favorite brew as fresh-tasting as possible, especially if the beans are not easy to come by. Various Italian manufacturers make containers specifically for this purpose. And there was a time, not long ago, when the two famous Italian brews I posted were not available on the internet. You either had to know someone who was traveling to Rome or you had to go yourself.

As for being called an idiot, I always consider the source when someone is being childishly defensive, obstinate and rude, especially when they use caps. There's only one thing to do with your mouth, dude:

Appreciate the input/emails and Ben Cohen too

Howdy spectators,

I've received several cool emails and I wanted to share a few of my answers regarding products on the websites I posted.

Best Sirius Radio?

Right now, I have an older model StarMate from Best Buy. I want (for Christmas) one of the Sportster Replay models. You can recall up to 44 minutes of previously transmitted programming. So, if you hear a song you like, a caller who pisses you off or should you decide to phone into a show, you can instantly replay it(and hear what you sound like on the radio)

Lightest Molton Brown Shower Gel Scents For Men?

Cool Mentha(minty/lemon), ABC Vitamin(orange/citrus) and Grapeseed. They have very low hang times :0)

Southern Candy Makers Products I Dislike?

Peanut Butter Cups...they aren't sealed so pb shoots everywhere. And the chocolate is really hard. I like something that is more melt-away.

Everyone have a good one...

Don't Hate; Participate, Congratulate or Sexualate

PS That chewy Ben Cohen(yum)

RE: Spreading ass and good cheer!

"Everyone have a good one...

Don't Hate; Participate, Congratulate or Sexualate"

Even though I don't think sexualate is a word, thank you, sexy John, for making an attempt to spread holiday cheer. Now, if only we can get you to spread those long, lean legs, dear.

Rude Scrooges never turned me on so I can't imagine them doing much to turn-on any escort. Unfortunately for escorts, some men with a wallet think a few dirty green bills provides sufficient terms of endearment.

My mother always told me, if you don't have good looks, you better have a fun, winning personality. And if all else fails, you better have a decent bank account balance. What a shame to find any gay men who comes up empty on all counts. And what a shame to discover a gay man with no appreciation for "freezer" glamour. Just because it's the most frigid room in the house doesn't mean it shouldn't contain a few "hot" goodies.

And speaking of goodies (to celebrate John's enthusiastic good cheer and his eye candy gift of Ben), I offer a few more of my favorite glamour-chic finds for the very distinguished and discerning gay males among us:

If chic tea is your thing then Mariage Freres in Paris is not to be missed. http://www.mariagefreres.com/ I don't think their website is e-commerce but I hear there are a few distributors in America who carry some of their line. I prefer to fly to Paris and select my own.

For a quintessential chocolate gift, also in Paris, La Maison du Chocolate http://www.lamaisonduchocolat.com/ never disappoints (except for the counter help attitude). Anna Wintour is known for sending hundreds of boxes to minions at Christmas time.

http://www.madova.com/fabbri.htm

Madova Glove factory in Florence, Italy makes some exquisite leather gloves that can't be found anywhere else at prices even a broke bitch can afford. Their mail order business is quite convenient and reliable. Send them a sketch of your hand and, presto, custom riding gloves come to your door.

http://www.smnovella.it/

If skin care is your thing, keep your eye on this Medici favorite, in business since 1612. Officina Profumo Farmaceutica Santa Maria Novella, also in Florence, is entering modern times and will soon have their own website. Scent snobs from around the world can be seen here with their noses touching the Renaissance ceiling while they sniff, sniff, sniff away the day. If you can't wait to buy direct from Italy, Lafco New York (http://www.lafcony.com/) is an American distributor. Be sure and check out the Lorenzo Villoresi candles at Lafco. Every gay glamour queen's home deserves to have at least one burning (under his ass).

Happy shopping, everyone!

A really good site for a variety of designer underwear:

http://www.freshpair.com

The cheapest shipping is always free, there's an 800 number for Customer Service, and there are frequent sales on brands, such as 2(x)ist. I've never had any shipping problem with this site. What more could you want?

I have one sitting unused you can have. :-) It has both car and in-home mounts/connecting doodads.

Drop me an email if you want it and we'll figure out shipping.

Wow Deej,

Fantastic! Our Kingdom and Its People Thank You!

I don't have your direct email addy at my fingertips...should I write you through our lil pvt message set up here or you want to email me?

BTW, "sexualate" aint a word...it's one of those letter configurations I picked up at the C Terminal of Atlanta-Hartsfield-Jackson-Jefferson-McKinley-Polk airport along with "conversate, rant(past tense of run)and you'unzez"

Laundry time--going to Texas early a.m.
