Yes, that sort of blather is off-putting to say the least.

I had a similar episode with a brilliantly successful provider in that he took me to heaven in the sack but whose post-coital sour bad-mouthing cost him any repeat business from me. Perhaps it was all a part of his mega-masc persona but it didn't go over with me.
