Most of the time they just text me the room number when Im on my way to them and getting close, or when I tell them Im at the hotel. Do whatever you feel the most comfortable with. You can also just meet them downstairs in the lobby and bring them up to your room which is good as you can secretly go back to your room if they used fake pictures lol plus some hotel require key use to access the elevator. :p

Most hotels have elevator keys now but I can't imagine how to duck out if the guy's not like his pics. Maybe tell him a false description of what you're wearing ? That could certainly come in handy for fakes if I could get the nerve to do it.

I never give my room number over text. I always tell them to meet me in the lobby near some landmark (the bar, across from the registration desk, etc).

This is the best idea, particularly for a first-time date. If you had already seen each other 25 times, other arrangements could be made.

Been to Vegas three times this year. Four different hotels.

Security = flash room key card at guard manning the elevator lobby. No need for keycard in elevators or to call elevator to lobby (like urban office buildings.) No need once up on guest floors.

Several escorts reported they have key cards for most of the major properties.... guests leave keycards all over. They needn't be active if the only purpose is to wave a logo card at a bored guard.

I prefer meeting in lobby, but found many rentguys refuse that.

And I've found text to be preferred method for all communications.... anyone under 40 for any purpose. I dont think its about rentguys or security. Its about paying attention, remembering, and reliance on a system to have info available at the moment its needed. I dont expect anyone to ever write anything down.

And, for rentguys and clients, there's the ability to communicate discreetly and intermittently. Can't easily discuss rates and services standing in line for coffee, but you can text about it. Need to stop and find a quiet spot to speak about details if in the gym, but can check and send texts every 2-3 minutes between sets... or while using cardio equip. Its a lifestyle issue.

I'm wondering if any of the barristers on the board could comment about whether the contents of private two-way texts have ever been entered into evidence in trials ....

Judge Judy uses texts for her court cases. Theses are texts people have saved. Not sure about texts people have deleted.

If secure communication is a concern - one should be using an app such as Signal/Telegram or an encrypted email service such as Protonmail.

Text/Phone communication is not secure.

Using the above options are a bit more secure but only when both parties communicating use said services every time.

New elevator experience:

At the bank or elevators, there is a touch screen with various floors. You touch\select your floor. It then tells you which elevator to use. You get in. There is a pad for room key approval, but no buttons it takes you to your floor.

Never saw anything like i5 before in my life.

Havent seen that in a hotel yet.... but that system was installed in the office building where I worked in 2011. And most of the buildings in the SF Financial district.

Regular workers access with a badge... elevator assigned at touchscreen. Visitors assigned at security desk. No open access call button.

Its also supposed to manage elevator traffic... fewer stops on fewer floors by cars...routing people into cars already headed to specific floors.

Thanks for the responses. This was for a first-time meeting. ( I wouldn't have any problems texting hotel information to a provider I knew. ) Also, with a first-timer, either with phone or texting, I'm very careful what I include: basically arranging for a meeting and that's all. Nothing about what I want to happen at the meeting.

I like the idea of meeting a new person in a public area, especially if the pictures are not accurate. This would be a good reason to stay at a hotel with a key card system. I was at an older, boutique hotel, which didn't have key cards.

From an escort's perspective, I think it's better for the escort if they can get a definite room number, but it made me uncomfortable for the escort to ask for it. I was afraid it could have been a sting operation, and I'd be leading the police straight to me. Although, as I said, I never put anything "incriminating" in the text.

But my worries were needless - we had a great time.

Not too long ago, I met an escort who had been the victim of a sting operation. He was very careful with me and seemed like a cautious guy. It would seem to me the police have better things to do.

BTW, I just found out about Protonmail and signed up. Thanks for the info on Signal/Telegram.

I've hired a many times. No escort has ever refused to first meet me in the lobby. Just my experience.

But I'm a good client (except for the above/below limitations): I dont negotiate the price but pay what they ask (if within reason, and I know the market rates); I offer beforehand to pay all parking fees; I inform beforehand that I consider tipping important; and I ask him in advance what food/appetizers/drinks/booze they want ready for them when we get to my hotel room. I'd like to think I'm a gentleman, with safety concerns.

And since I will NEVER give a first time session with an escort my hotel room number, the first escort that does refuse to meet me there but rather demands my room number is an escort I will quickly, but politely inform him to find another client.

This is for SAFETY, guys. No exceptions, even for the well-reviewed ones.

I meet escorts only in my hotel room, not their hotel. Vice stings love to set up their stings in a hotel room with their other police compatriots in an adjoining/nearby hotel room where they have their gear listening in, taping, and getting ready to jump in & arrest. It's much harder (and rarer) for sting operations to have a undercover policeman meet a client in clients hotel lobby not knowing where the hotel room is. I also dont give the name of my hotel till the day before. Just too little time for a Vice operation to set up shop. My strategy isnt foolproof but its helpful.

Also, I use a burner phone assigned for escort hiring, not my regular cell phone (it's very cheap, btw) cuz people can track cell phones to the real person.

And an email specifically set up for hiring communications only.

Safety, guys, safety.

Finally, some careful clients advocate not giving out their real name.

I disagree.

I always give out my real name:

its Jesus Christ Incarnate, thank you.

Josh, thanks for the good advice. You've brought up some concerns I hadn't even considered.

I'm convinced: it's best to insist on meeting in the bar or lobby. Also, good idea about not divulging the name of the hotel too early. I would never have considered the possibility of the police setting up a sting operation in the client's hotel.

It's good to know I wasn't just being a nervous Nellie, and that a lot of other guys have the same concerns.
