I had The Rookie on my new show watch list. I thought it was a good pilot show last night. It has the making of a good police procedural show.

The first time I became aware of his acting was in the movie “Outing Reilly”. He was talented, so I went back and watched the tv show “Firefly” and most of his subsequent work. I guess that makes me a fan!

The recent episode had two gay stories; one happy and one sad. Early in the show there was a m/m engagement scene. But later a sad one. A man had been the victim of gay bashing.. And since he had gotten out of the hospital he had not left his apartment for 16 months. He was walking with a cane. It was really sad.

On last night's episode of "The Rookie", the African American rookie cop set up a date with a male hospital orderly. It took his training police officer a bit off guard. I was enjoying the show before this storyline, but this addition will keep me tuning in.
