Well, this came out of left field.

 

DaddysReviews.com, which isn't even open for business yet, is nominated for a CyberSocket award! Look for it in the "Best Escort Site" category.

 

Dunno who nominated it, but I'm sure it makes Daddy feel better about all the long hours he's been putting in getting the site ready.

I'll say congrats, but at the same time I have to say that these awards are the utmost of ridiculousness (only topped by the rentboy.com awards).

 

Are there sites that are NOT nominated? Very few. And there are sites nominated in categories that they don't belong in whatsoever. Pure and utter ridiculousness from start to finish in my opinion.

 

But whatever, have fun voting on things that make no difference on anything.

I agree with you, but it's not just the Cybersocket awards. Every award show in the adult industry is bogus.

 

I've had sites nominated for Cybersocket awards before. Didn't know a thing about it until one of our members wrote with congratulations. One year we actually won the category, but the only reason I even know that is because a friend called on his cell phone from the ceremony. Nobody from Cybersocket bothered to notify us.

 

Anyone remember the Joey & Carlo escort awards? That was such a joke the published list of winners was different from the winners announced at the live event. Anyone could go on and on. It's not an area where the adult industry shines.

MER isn't. :9 But they're just one of many. I'm willing to bet Daddy's on the list only because M4M was on it last year and someone there knew about the name change. Rentboy will win the category, as they do every year, because they buy advertising in Cybersocket Magazine.

 

All that aside, as they say at the Oscars: It's an honor to be nominated.

 

The awards DO expose a lot of people to websites they may not have known about. (I find something new every year!) And for that, they're useful.
