Several times per day. If I’m touring I che k far more frequently. RM message is probably the worst way to stay in contact with us. We do not receive notifications of new messages, and reading through a conversation thread is tedious. For me, texting is by far my most preferred method of contact.

Yeah, the RM system is woeful. I email a provider's rent.men addy from a secondary hobby email. At least, if he responds, I receive the reply directly. If you use the email that is linked to your RM account, the RM system will just sweep up the back and forth into their crappy email system.

Can someone, simply, explain how Google Voice works and what it does. I have checked the internet and I get a lot of explanation that makes no sense to me. Not a millennial or a teckie I need really non-technical easy to understand verbiage. Help?

I never switch from my GV number to my primary one. Why bother anyone with yet a second phone number that he has to update in his contact list? GV works just as well as the primary one, so I have no reason to ask them to switch. Even if we become friends.

Once, I get to know someone, I jettison the GV and give him my cell number.

Very succinctly: it is just a free second phone number.

The easiest way to use it is: install the google voice app on your phone, sign up to get a number. Then you use the google voice app (instead of the text-message app that is built into your phone) to text.

There are many other things you can do with this techology but you probably want to start with just texting from your smartphone without giving away your primary phone number.

@Tarte Gogo: is your Whatsapp tied to your GV number? Outside the US, guys prefer Whatsapp.

yeah. Like all of that was said there. Think of it this way. Why are you expecting same day delivery from the USPS?

I sent a postcard from Vancouver BC to Utah using Canada post. It took 2 weeks to arrive. Maybe USApS isn’t the worst carrier?

Having a burner number is a great idea and comes in very handy in a number of situations...

That bit is what you are doing wrong.

Get a “burner number” (like google voice) for texting RM guys. This way you don’t need to worry about texting them with your normal phone #.

I don't wanna talk about it

I honestly wish they would give a feature update with RM mail. With the amount of messages we get in both phone and email... it’s hard to keep up. I wish we could group messages in folders to help better organize things. I would do states or major locations.

I’ve found that turning new message notifications on (which come directly to your phone) has alleviated the need to check RM more frequently than necessary. While not so elaborate as to provide the content of the messages, it does aid me in being a bit more attentive.

I had that on but it hadn’t been working for months. I figured they disabled that feature. Nowadays after a few messages, I kindly ask to call or text me. My method seems to filter out who the serious inquiries are.

Always use a Bone Phone for contacting escorts.

Unfortunately, this is sound advise. I used to think it was paranoid, but reality proved ne wrong. The overwhelming majority of the guys I connected with are amazing guys. I did have trouble with just a few that I would have avoided should I had listened the more experienced friends here.

Now I use Google Voice.
