Does anyone have one? I have one. This makes the second one I've owned. I've had it for at least five years. However for about six months I've gotten poor reception. Alot of static. If I put my hand on it no static. But I can't to do that. I had been able to pick up stations 50 and 100 miles away. This happened with the previous C Crane radio I had too.

Is this just the way with radios? They get old and go bad? The one I have now and the one I had before costs $170 at Amazon Another that looks similar is $90.

Any recommendations?

Where I live there are only two stations. One is an oldies music and the other a talk station. Glenn Beck etc.. Arrgh! Hence the need to be able to pick up stations further away.

Have you looked at internet radio apps? I listen to an “old time” radio station in bed sometimes...but there are sports, music etc, thousands of stations.

That said as a HAM radio licensee I appreciate the C.Crane

I play the radio while I'm online.

When I get a new radio I plan to move this old one into the bedroom. One of the local stations airs the Coast-to-Coast radio show.

The company stands behinds their products. I would contact them and tell them just what you've written here.

Could be a matter of a replaceable electronic component (like an electrolytic capacitor) needing to be swapped out.
