Can you believe the crapola that is flowing these days re

Star Jones/The View/Barbra Walters?

And Larry King devotes a whole hour to ir?

If it wasn't for the fact that my new flat screen set me back a mint, I think I would have taken an axe to it tonight. (I know - I could have changed the chanel - but it was rather like watching a car wreck). She could hardly get a word out of her mouth for the stupid smile she had plastered there non-stop. They should have fired the phony cunt months ago!

She had zero credibility - didn't believe a word she said. And to think she used to be a judge!

Slight correction: She was a Prosecutor in the Brooklyn Borough of NYC---not a judge as far as I know.

I wonder who did the "firing?" Hummmmm--wasn't The View Bawwa's baby? Can't imagine Star Jones Reynolds was shown the door without BW's complicity--oops, maybe that shows my bias :))

You're probably right - that sounds more plausable.

No bias there - just plain logic.

I didn't watch the Larry King crapoloa, just don't like LK or his usual ass-kissing questions, so I have no idea what they "talked" about for an hour---but I did see a snippet on Good Morning America with Star Jones looking haggard and drawn and a teensy bit angry. I also find her "smile" very phoney, but it's the eyes that scare me--something very lizard-like and predatory there ----very scary.

Yes, and her broadcast creds were as legal analyst before sitting down for the Hen Party. When a legal topic came up on "The View" she provided well-reasoned commentary.

Interesting juxtapositions coming out of that show. Meredith Vieira managed to anchor the show, come across as likeable, and maintain her journalistic reputation enough to get the nod to step into Katie Couric's shoes on "Today".

Star Jones became a diva and has nothing left but whatever press she can get out of being fired.

Some gossips claim that Star was dumped because Rosie O. made it a condition of joining the show, but the network said the decision had been made months before approaching Rosie. I doubt we'll ever know the whole truth, and I doubt either side is telling the whole truth.

But I *am* amazed that this Star Jones person, as D-list as celebrities can get, is getting a lot of publicity basically for getting canned.

"But I *am* amazed that this Star Jones person, as D-list as celebrities can get, is getting a lot of publicity basically for getting canned."

Well, for one, she is a woman who succeeded in having a decent on-camera career in network television. For two, she's a Black woman who did all of the above. For three, she was mostly a very FAT, Black woman who did all of the above, at least, until recently. Her being fired (by a famous Jewish, White woman with the help of a few male network suits) seems the perfect recipe for hot TV gossip. And it looks like Star intends to milk it for all she can.

I never thought much about her, except that I enjoyed her reporting during the OJ Simpson trial and I noted she seemed to have an inflated ego. Like the escort world (ask Tom), big egos are nothing too surprising.

I did feel her loss of weight ruined her look. When she was fat, there was something oddly pleasing about her created-by-a-gay-man, earth-Black-heffer, diva appearance. After she lost the weight, her forehead took ten steps back, her eyes bulged, and her big mouth became even bigger. Not pretty.

Public firings are humiliating, which is why many women can relate to this drama. Adding to the drama, Star made the mistake of dissing Barbara Walters' request to make the announcement two days later, together. (I hear they had an agreement.)

No matter how BIG your ego is, you just don't dog the female doyen of television and wear your bruised heart like some stupid badge of honor. That dog won't hunt (or help you get a better job).

If I were Star Jones' manager, I would have advised her to take her firing and departure "like a man" and leave the show with as much dignity as she could muster. Instead, she leaves whining and mad, like a spoiled media-hound brat, who thinks more of herself than most others. I hope she's saved a lot of money.

RE: Say goodnight, Star.

Star Jones may have won the battle, but she has lost the war. Who would possibly hire her now for any high profile job?

At age 75, why does Barbara Walters expose herself to all this turmoil? Her place in TV history is secure. Walters must have plenty of money. Why not just retire, do occasion guest appearances on TV and enjoy life? It seems to me that Barbara Walters'job on a relatively unimportant morning TV chat show has become a substitute for a life.

RE: Say goodnight, Star.

A search at ABC.com for "Starr Jones" gets no hits. A search for "Star Jones" on the same site takes you directly to the page for "The View" which has, of course, been completely sanitized of any mention of Star Jones.

But isn't her name supposed to be some shortened nickname version of a longer name anyway? Chances are good she won't give a damn how you spell it as long as you call her "Star".

I know I'm showing something "uber-gay" about myself for even KNOWING this, but her given birth name is Starlet--no idea if it has one r or two. Now I shall try and PURGE my mind of all this SJR crapola!!

Does the woman know how to spell her own name?

What a bunch of dingbats! I give you the website owned by the woman in question and you offer silly Google hits as proof that she misspells her name?

Thanks for the laugh.
