Labyrinths were fashionable a few years ago. They took out a bunch of the seating at Grace Cathedral a few years ago and put in a labyrinth. They have one at a park in Sonoma. I think a labyrinth is supposed to be a metaphor for a quest or something like that. I think theyre tedious.

Noe Valley Ministries (an episcopal congregation in a Victorian building also in San Francisco) had a labyrinth in its sanctuary, but since the chairs were all loose or folding, they didn't have to do anything special to accommodate it.

Just to clarify ;

 

A maze is a complex branching (multicursal) puzzle that includes choices of path and direction, may have multiple entrances and exits, and dead ends. A labyrinth is unicursal i.e. has only a single, non-branching path, which leads to the center then back out the same way, with only one entry/exit point.
