If you want a gay gym, it's either David Barton or 19th Street Gym. There's quite a difference in amenities though--David Barton is luxurious; 19th Street is pretty spare. Lots of hot guys in both places. What are you looking for in a gym?

But keep in mind that you will need to snort crystal meth (or whatever it is you do with that stuff) in order to endure the mind-numbingly loud and monotonous "club" music in either of the above. :o

Thanks for the info guys! I actually found one around the corner from my hotel, Mid-City Gym at 49th and 8th ave, that was only $60 for a one week pass. It was pretty business like and had everything I need, so I'm set for the week! :)

>I called one place (David Barton Gym) and was quoted $250.

Last time I checked David Barton Gym was 'members only', with no day passes allowed to visitors (unless you know a member).

This restriction was waived during Black Party. Probably there is a change now.

Here I found a somewhat incomplete list with NYC Fitness Clubs http://www.ny.com/health/fitness/ but it's true that there are plenty of choices in Manhattan.

Good choice, Jason. Derek and I like "real" gyms, the kind that are focused on providing good weight and cardio equipment in an "unpretty" masculine setting. We tried the "clubby" gyms mentioned above but they just weren't our thing (DJ's in a gym? :o ). By the way, we have found that Gold's gyms are usually the best (and most reasonably priced) when we travel, and when in Chicago, Quads Gym is the most fucking amazing gym with so much equipment, it almost made us cum just from the excitement of the variety. :p
